Has Senator Barack Obama destroyed his presidential campaign by associating himself with Jackson and Sharpton?

...in the Imus affair? What do you think? With the nation flooded with vile, offensive, filthy rap "music" from the black culture, doesn't someone need to clean up around his own back door? I have been impressed by Senator Obama in the past, and I had been convinced that he could bring racial healing to America. I was inclined to vote for him for this reason, but now I see I was terribly wrong to consider him for the office of President of the United States of America. I sent his office an email yesterday telling him that I had switched my support to John Edwards because he believes in forgiveness, which Obama does not.

  1. no but he is a senator and they rarely get voted in
  2. Obama is half black so he shares a racial heritage with Sharpton and Jackson, and like Jackson he resides in the Chicago area. Is that enough to associate Obama with Sharpton and Jackson? I suppose it depends on how one views the world. I do know that Obama was on the Imus show once, and that he made a couple of statements about the Imus flap when asked.
  3. You bet! When the younger people find out about the Sharpton/Brawley Fiasco they will see what a Fraud Sharpton is. Just go to the Tawana Brawley Case" to see why no one should listen to him. It seems the Medea is being very generous to Sharpton in not airing his involvement in the Brawley Rape Case. I guess Obama also thinks that Case is forgotten. It's not.
  4. At lot of eyes have been opened in the past 3 days, but america is still so worried about being "right", and politically correct who knows? A lot of anti sharpton out there right now. He`s a maggot. Even black people hate this worm. He`s setting racial progress back 50 years! There will be a record vote this next pres election.
  5. Yeah all the Republicans sided with Imus???? And the Dukies!!! Must be racists!!!! Am I missing something? Aren't rappers Konvicts (as they say)?
  6. That trio is only interested in "WHAT"S IN IT FOR ME ??" They'll jump on any band wagon that looks profitable and never admit they were wrong.
  7. Good question. I was very interested in Obama until this week, when he (and Hilary, who wasn't a consideration for me, anyway) just had to chime in and say Imus should be fired. Until this week, he looked intelligent, balanced and aggressive enough for me to really consider voting for president (very different than our Idiot King). Not a chance, now.
  8. Senator Obama can hurt his Presidential Campaign irreparably by getting involved in this Imus/Jackson/Sharpton fiasco. This boil has festered into a situation any politician would be better served to avoid. The whole thing is nothing more than hype and sensational trivia far beneath the dignity of National leaders but yet, dangerous ground.
  9. I am in favor for a democrat to take office. But after hearing the lies Obama told at a speech he gave in Selma, I put him in the same class as the two poverty pimps. He needs to realize that many black Americans are as sick of Al and Jesse as the rest of us are. Obama is also showing that he will try to use his HALF race to get votes - I say half because he has a white parent also. The white history is part of him also, but he does not acknowledge it......this will backhand him and make him appear racist in the long run. At this point, he will not get my vote but, I reserve the right to change my mind.
  10. I think if there is any negative fallout for him that he will emphasize Jackson & Sharpton's continuing efforts to get rappers to tone down lyrics, as that seems to be the main sticking point on that side of things. I've heard it mentioned on several newscasts, but due to all of the comparisons I think we'll start hearing more and more about what those two have been doing to tone down the rappers. The thing is, I don't know how large an effort they've really made, if it's just been lip service or they've been putting a lot of time into it. Whether or not you're a fan of Hillary's, it will be interesting to see what she says on Monday. Rutgers invited her to speak to the college about this issue. It could be a key speech for her, especially in regard to Obama's standing with Jackson & Sharpton. This issue isn't going away anytime soon, it's opened up a brand new dialogue in this country about the double standard of using racial slurs.
  11. Obama doesn't stand a chance and never did. Putting aside the fact that he has Muslim heritage, the truth is that the average ignorant American can barely differentiate between Osama and Obama. Middle America will never vote for him.
  12. umm this is a no brainier.... he is not running for presidency...he is running for vice presidency....but obviously it has not been aired on CNN or CBS yet so you don't have the capacity think about it. and his name is barack Husein obama.
  13. Yeah. Just like McCain destroyed his campaign by associating himself with Bush.
