How is Senator Barack Obama "inexperienced" (read below)?

Obama has had more experience than Hillary Clinton, contrary to popular belief. If you call being a first lady experience, then you are wrong. Obama has been a state or congressional senator since 1997. Hillary has been a senator since 2001. George W. Bush was a Governor for only 5 years before becoming our president. Senators have more experience with the nation's issues than governors do, mind you. So if Bush was "experienced" and Clinton is "experienced" then how is Sen. Obama "INexperienced?"

Public Comments

  1. You're right.
  2. Yeah but daddy Bush was Pres and so was Hillary's wife.
  3. Good point. He isn't. Add Constitutional law professor, and straight A Harvard law student to 8 years State senator, 4 years US senator, and even a blind man can see he is the most qualified for the job.
  4. People need reasons not to support the one candidate that would bring about postive change so they normally have to fabricate them. Just because Barack is young, the media makes him out to be "inexperienced." The reality is that Barack Obama is one of the only candidates that reflects the will of the American people and has brought a refreshing message of renewal and hope based on real changes at every level of the political system. Barack Obama is not entrenched in the Washington D.C. corporate lobbyist system, he is the one candidate that will find solutions to the problems plaguing the American working families. While the Republicans promote "deregulation" as the cure, Mr. Obama finds true solutions based on the peoples interests instead of the billion dollar corporations.
  5. Governors gain executive experience. They have to make decisions, take action, and answer for consequences. Senators gain legislative experience. They have to show-up and say: yea or nay. Some don't even bother to show-up. Sure there are a motivated few Senators who write legislation and sit on committees, but this still does not directly translate to executive experience.
  6. Asylum addresses a great point into Obama's experience, but the one point that is really hurting him is his foreign policy experience. We all know that George Bush doesn't have one at all, but Hillary has the advantage of that from being the first lady and meeting heads of states, attending meetings, speaking to Bill C., etc.
  7. And look where we are now because of monkey Bush. Also Obama has very very little foreign policy experience. I will vote for Hillary who has the foreign policy experience. She is highly intelligent and graduated valedictorian. She's a Yale grad and extremely accomplished.
  8. Because Clinton is also inexperienced, as was bush. So if you think the inexperienced bush did such a great job, then go ahead and vote for another inexperienced candidate.
  9. Let me crush these ideas real quick. Hillary Clinton was intimately involved in all facets of her husbands presidency. Their hasn't been a first lady like her, other than maybe Nancy Reagan or Eleanor Roosevelt in our nation's history. While I personally loathe Hillary Clinton and her politics, it is crazy to even imply that Obama has more national leadership experience than Hillary Clinton. From a qualification stand point, she is head and shoulders above Obama. Like George W. or hate him, he had a pedigree. He also was an effective governor. While his time in the White House has been less than stellar, he again had experience that was light years ahead of Obama. I like Obama, he seems like a descent guy to me. I think he is much in the same mold as Mike Huckabee. They impress me as being genuine people. But, we live in a dangerous world. We cannot afford people that wish for peace and then sit back to see if it will happen. The one that clinched it for me, was when Obama said he would take use using nuclear weapons on Iran, off the table with Iran. You can never take nuclear weapons off the table for any reason. They are the greatest deterrent we have against countries like Iran. It showed a naivety that it just to dangerous in the world we live in.
  10. Great point and thanks.
  11. I am afraid there is a flaw in your thinking. This does not prove that Obama is experienced. It simply means that some candidates are as inexperienced or more inexperienced than he. That is not the same as being experienced. As a matter of fact, Senator Obama IS inexperienced, as in fact half the Republican and Democratic candidates are. If you want to look to experience, probably Bill Richardson on the Democratic side and John McCain on the Republican one. Cheers.
