Barack Obama?

The more I see of this guy the more I like him. What are your opinions of him and does he really have a chance to get the Dem nomination

  1. http://www.suntimes.com/news/sweet/254536,CST-NWS-sweet13.article Obama is not that smooth. http://www.conservativeworld.us/
  2. Good, I hope you die with him when he gets shot for his radical Islamic ways!
  3. Sure he does, someone needs to fill, Osama, empty spot.
  4. I don't like the guy. Check his records, in his state he voted to raise taxes OVER 300 times. He is also against giving medical treatment to a fetus that is still alive after an abortion. Also check what he said about the troops, here is an example: "...over 3000 lives were wasted..." Now do you want someone like that to run this country?
  5. I agree, I have seen him on the Sunday funnies a few times and last Sunday on 60 minutes, I think that was his best interview so far. He was candid, and intelligent has a gorgeous wife and two beautiful kids. He and his wife were both wearing blue jeans, that in itself was refreshing from the suits that I usually see in interviews like that, the fact that he worked for $13,000 a year relates to me. I really think he is a man of the people. I think I still favor Hillary, but only because of her experience and my mind could change by the 08 primaries.
  6. I like him. But I haven't heard enough from him personally to make a final decision. I imagine however, that he is just as good or better than any of the other candidates. At least he doesn't stop mid-sentence when he is making a point. And YES, 3,000 lives WERE wasted! What other term would you like? that they died heroes? Well then I have never ever heard of a U.S. soldier coming back from the dead to advise us that he was GLAD he died a hero. So yes, 3,000 lives were wasted. On George W. Bush! I'd much rather someone who speaks honestly about his feelings, rather than another George W. Bush who could care less about U.S. troops.
  7. I am not 100% sold, which is why we have a long "get to know them" period before voting. But I like what I've seen so far. I love that he's a pluralist, that he wants to include ALL Americans, and not just Democrats or Republicans, in the American dream. I love that he rarely attacks other candidates... even when Biden made that goofy "clean" comment, Obama only noted that it was "historically inaccurate" and said he didn't take it personally. I like that he's smart, and a good communicater. I'm even fairly happy that he's not too mired in a DC history, "experience" or not, because I think DC has to change. As for whether Obama has a chance? Yes. A big chance? Maybe not. But if he can really whip up the younger voters who until now haven't been showing up at he polls? He could do it.
  8. While I am a Republican and don't agree with some of what he believes, I think he is an assidious young guy who would work hard to uphold the ethics of this country. I like that he is a Christian.
  9. I'd rather the first black president be Condoleza Rice. First woman president. First black president.
  10. as a 1/2 black pseudo christian, I don't believe he has a chance, especially with the muslim name. We are not ready for a (i'm sorry to say this) a black president
  11. It's a long way to the election-and we have lots of great candidates. I like John Edwards as well. The right will be doing a lot of mudslinging. Obama's "radical" Islam past consists of a couple years in grade school in nearly secular Muslim school! I like Joe Biden as well, the only guy with a real plan to stabilize Iraq and get us the heck out....really can't wait for the debates!
  12. He da man!
  13. I agree with Joe Biden. Osama is a nice, clean, articulate man. He has no experience whatsoever, though.
  14. I agree--he hits me as being a reasonably intelligent and honest person. Quite honestly, I don't think he'lll get the presidential nomination--I think he'll be the VP nominee with Hillary Clinton or John Edwards. Its very early to be picking winners, though..
  15. Don't be fooled by his glib rhetoric and socko replies. He is bright but he is too young to be president. Give him 8-10 more years.
  16. He seems very honest and sincere in a time in our country where it is hard to find any truth. He is not afraid to say we should withdraw from Iraq, he has my support for standing up and speaking his mind instead of hiding behind the status quo. I think he has a good chance to get the nomination. America need's CHANGE!! I believe Obama can deliver.
