- Who cares? I don't even know what "100% black" means. We're all descended from Africans who most likely had black skin, so in that sense we're all 100% black.
- Geez. I think the irony here dwells in the fact that you have NO idea how ignorant you sound with a question like that.
- he's not - he's related to chaney way back so either he is part white or chaney is part black
- Hello? Just read his bio...his mother was a white woman from Kansas! Not exactly a secret.
- have u read frontline magazine .....obama was born to a white mother and a black father ...his father walked out on him and his mother and he was raised by his WHITE grand parents so hes a mix ...google it
- he is related to Jefferson Davis, if that makes you feel any better about yourself...
- His website, http://www.barackobama.com, or http://www.wikipedia.org, will tell you that his father is Kenyan and his mother is Caucasian from Kansas. His father is Muslim, but Barack is professed Christian. What you should tell your relatives is that they should vote based on the candidate's platform and not because of what they look like. Color of the skin is just an adaptation to the sun based on geographic proximity to the equator. It'll be lost on them. You should also tell them that if it was at one time, "okay," to build a country on our backs, why not just go the extra mile and let "one of us," run it?
- Rasist, why should that matter, the colour of the skin is not relevant in waht the man proposing to do for troubled american. I know Borak is from Kenya and that somewhere in africa.
- yes, even I am not that much opposed to Obama to be that superficial! Geez....I just don't think he is qualified...but to vote FOR or AGAINST him based on race, heck I am that color with a tan and I am German!
- Put them in their place by voting for him. Then, when he gets elected, you can say "See! Even black guys (whether part Kenyan or not) have a chance in this country! Get real." Unfortunately, there are still people who base prejudice on skin colour. You ain't going to change them.
- Dont' even go there. To argue that he isn't 100% Black is just accepting the premise that there is something wrong with being 100% Black. If someone is a racist there is no arguing with him that way. If he is not impressed that someone graduated Magna cum Laude from Harvard Law School and was editor of the Harvard Law Review, what else can you do to impress him that the guy is smart as a whip. Maybe you can just goof on him and ask him why he is prejudiced against people of Kansas decent.
- Obama was born on August 4, 1961 at The Queen's Medical Center[9][10] in Honolulu, Hawaii to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. (born in Nyanza Province, Kenya, of Luo ethnicity) and Ann Dunham (born in Wichita, Kansas).[11] His parents met while both were attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where his father was enrolled as a foreign student.[12] Obama's parents separated when he was two years old and later divorced.[13] His father went to Harvard University to pursue Ph.D. studies, then returned to Kenya.[14] His mother married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian foreign student, and the family moved to Jakarta in 1967.[15] Obama attended local schools in Jakarta from ages 6 to 10, where classes were taught in the Indonesian language,[16] which he still speaks passably.[17] He then returned to Honolulu to live with his maternal grandparents while attending Punahou School from the fifth grade until his graduation in 1979.[18] Obama's mother died of ovarian cancer a few months after the publication of his 1995 memoir, Dreams from My Father.[19] In the memoir, Obama describes his experiences growing up in his mother's American middle class family. His knowledge about his African father, who returned once for a brief visit in 1971, came mainly through family stories and photographs.[14] Of his early childhood, Obama writes: "That my father looked nothing like the people around me—that he was black as pitch, my mother white as milk—barely registered in my mind."[20] The book describes his struggles as a young adult to reconcile social perceptions of his multiracial heritage.[21] He wrote that he used alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine during his teenage years to "push questions of who I was out of my mind".[22] After high school, Obama moved to Los Angeles, where he studied at Occidental College for two years.[23] He then transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialization in international relations.[24] Obama received his B.A. degree in 1983, then worked at Business International Corporation and NYPIRG before moving to Chicago to take a job as a community organizer.[25] As Director of the Developing Communities Project, he worked with low-income residents in Chicago's Roseland community and the Altgeld Gardens public housing development.[26] He entered Harvard Law School in 1988.[27] In 1990, The New York Times reported his election as the Harvard Law Review's "first black president in its 104-year history".[28] He completed his J.D. degree magna cum laude in 1991.[29] On returning to Chicago, Obama directed a voter registration drive.[29] As an associate attorney with Miner, Barnhill & Galland from 1993 to 1996, he represented community organizers, discrimination claims, and voting rights cases.[30] He was a lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1993 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004.[31]
- That will not put them in their places. They need passports and books not a website that tells you that Obama's mom was white.
- That's not going to change their mind, so don't bother. It's a simple fact that some people are just prejudiced no matter what. That's why most blacks don't vote Republican. For all the empty promises made to blacks by Democrats for over 50 years, and nothing real to show for it, Democrats can still rely on huge support from black voters without having to do anything for it... even when the Republican running is a successful self-made BLACK businessman! The reason Democrats can take blacks for granted is that most blacks are automatically prejudiced against Republicans. And it's a shame, because if blacks suddenly voted en masse for a Republican, you'd see so much attention given to them like never before. But as it is, they are the most powerless group in America... a guaranteed electorate doing whatever their Democrat "masters" tell them to do. So the prejudice problem actually works both ways.
- Spoken like a true liberal. What is this, a Hillary supporter? It wouldn't surprise me. Obama is a lightweight. There is no doubt about that in my mind. But so is Hillary. Crying may get you sympathy votes, but it will get you nowhere in the Presidency. Color is irrelevant. The sooner the liberals realize this, the better off this country will be. Obama should be judged on his views, not his so called "race". There are ample reasons to reject Obama and Hillary that have nothing to do with race or gender.
- Why should that (100%) matter? Get a new family!
- I wish people would stop making this an election of a black or an election of a woman and start making this an election for the best person to run this country. We're going to end up electing someone because they're a woman or a certain race or whatever and end up big losers in the end!
- what's wrong with people who don't want to vote for black guy? that's their rights. they are also entitled to their constitutional protected opinion. l lived in washington dc for 5 years during which time people there elected a convicted felon as the mayor. he's black. white had no chance there. was that based on merit or race? shall we call the voters of dc racists and reverse the decision of the people? absolutely not. that's democracy. so get used to the fact black are comfortable with black, white with white, yellow with yellow.
- what's this deal with finding a site to prove that Obama is not 100% black? You know his mother was white so it would seems like that would be proof enough for you. But it seems your family has put genetics or historical definitions of what make a person black or white in question. If you looking for sites to prove your family wrong, you have lost the battle already. Because you sided with them in your mind already.
- His mom is white, but he is still considered black
- I don't think any of that matters. Barack Obama is just another creole butt-kissing oreo, that knows nothing about what real African Americans go through. He grew up with his little prep schools, and his little rich friends please. None of us can identify with him. And the fact that he was a spoiled rich kid doesn't set well with me. He lives in a fantasy world where justice is for all. Well guess what, justice is for the rich. And while all these African americans are getting all cheesy laughing and getting excited about this little fake Muslim cake eater, everything he does is going to be geared toward the rich. While he's parading around pretending to be a liberal Democrat. Please, he's going to make a fool out of all these black people. This man even has friends in the middle east. Are you kidding me? I bet he is just a radical muslim on the downlow, waiting to take these fools government. As for as I'm concerned he is a sheep in wolf's clothing. Something about this man just isn't right. And the fact that he's a Leo (we all know how two faced they are) I'm just not feeling this cat. Period!!!!!!!!!!
- Barack's half black half white....but that shouldn't matter. I don't believe the lady's statement that blacks are prejudice to the republican party. I am black and I go by who I believe is the best to lead this country....and so do my friends and family. As of now I would vote for Obama but I also like Huckabee, whose a republican by the way. I kind of like Hilary but only because I like Bill Clinton.
