What is the Democrats plan to smear Mitt Romney? Will they focus on him being a Mormon?

Do you think the Democrats will burn him at the stake for being a Mormon? I think they will fight as dirty as it takes to knock him down.

They will continue to smear him and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't come up with "Romney is the father of Bristol Palin's baby".........really, that wouldn't surprise me at all. Thereby smearing Romney, and bringing up the Palin family again. Oh yeah, they are experts at the smear. Can dish it out, but, however, they can't take it!

6. Very likely. For some reason, althought America is predominantly based on religion, they do still use it to slate people. Mormonism is often badly interpreted, mostly because people know the cult, and not the actual religion. If they use that to bring him down, they are fighting dirty. But it's a stupid tactic, and anyone with half a brain would see right through that kind of scheme. If thats the only way Democrats can pull him down, they have no arguement.

8. No, they won't have to. Right wing R's hate Romney's guts. Mega-church pastors preach Mormons as devil worshipers and bound for hell. Conservative Catholics view LDS as a cult. No, the D's won't have to do anything to destroy Romney. That job has already been done by his fellow R's.

13. Religious attacks haven't been a standard political strategy for Democrats. Remember Romney as a Mormon Republican was elected Governor of Massachusetts (a very liberal and highly Democrat state). I can see that the Prop. 8 and its connection to the LDS church could be a big political liability for Romney from the center and the left. The direct attacks on Mormonism would likely come from the Christian Fundamentalist candidate in the Republican Primaries.

15. No, the Democrats won't focus on his religion. The Republicans already used that tactic to make sure that he didn't win the primary to become the Republican candidate in 2008. They'll use the fact that his views mirror the failed policies of the previous administration.
16. It probably won't go that far. The Huckleberry faction of the GOP will do the job for them. The Dems don't want to even have the spotlight on a Republican with economic creditials. They want to front runners to be porkers from Congress or Rush Limbaugh.
