how much money did john mccain raise in 2008 presidential campaign?
Public Comments
- Not enough, obviously.
- He raised $368 million for his primary campaign, and none for his general election campaign, choosing instead to accept public financing.
- Way less than Obama, and you know that money didn't come from individual tax payers either, it came from special interest groups that Obama is now repaying through all of his socialist programs.
- $370 million http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/summary.php?id=N00006424
- no where's near the all time recored Obama set.....even after he broke his promise not to take private monies....now he is paying it back in favors...a few trillions at a time
- Not enough. Probably about 1/50 of what BHO raised, since he broke his promise to not accept public funding.
- $370 million; he spent about $320 million. Edit: No, it was not 1/50 of Obama, it was 1/2. Obama raised about $650 million.
- Obviously not enough to win over Obama - MONSTER! What does it matter anyway! McCain didn't get it right - neither did Palin - But, We love her - I Know that I Do! I am just waiting for the Mid-Term Elections! They are going be BEAUTIFUL - I Pray! Peace to All - God Bless! Jane.
- All of the other answers are correct. Not only is Obama spending more as president than any other president in history, he started it all off with the largest campaign funding in history. (after promising to not take private donations) Should have been the indicator of who he will be right there.
- 370M for the primaries and he and Obama both agreed to use public monies for the general... Obama then renege and opted for private donations. Where Obama then raised 740 Million dollars
- about $28.63 and a sugar cube!
- He took public financing, The pledge Obama broke remember
