Why is John McCain running for re-election considering his stupidity on fundamnetal issues?

he thought the economy was strong. he thinks 100 years in iraq is a good idea. he wants to freeze domestic spending in America during a time of economic crisis, while spending more money rebuilding Iraq.

Public Comments

  1. He is still alive.
  2. It seems that people in Arizona like him. He has been the senator there forever.
  3. Maybe he's counting on his constituency to be just as "stupid"?
  4. He sees that being stupid is still not a trait that will keep you out of the White House.
  5. it is called Alzheimer .. it is age related dementia lol
  6. I don't think he will be running
  7. He doesn't consider his ideas stupid. Based on the numbers from the presidential election, there were a lot of people who agreed with him. Basically, he is not ready to head out of pasture.
  8. he wants to set a record of being the OLDEST president elected
  9. Because he wants America to go to war like he did and his forefathers did. Pride is a bad thing! Shouldn't we look for peace with nations like Barack Obama is doing instead of carrying on John McCain's traditions of fighting because he, his father, and grandfather served in the armed forces?
  10. He wants to get earmarks for Arizona.
  11. He thinks he knows best.
  12. I think you answered your own question. It's because he's stupid.
  13. What else is he going to do, retire and die? I am not a Republican but i can understand him not wanting to let go.
  14. P.T. Barnum of Circus fame, one said, " No one ever went broke, by underestimating the intelligence of the American Public" I'm sure you are referring to his run for the Senate in Arizona. If he is, he may be in for a shock, like the rest of the country, his State is now purple, and turning blue, meaning more Democratic. I'm sure the People of his State respected him, in his earlier years, with his Military History etc, but like most military men, he views war as the answer to all our problems, overseas. At his age, he should be thinking more of retirement, than running again for the U.S. Senate. If I'm right, he's 72 years old now, and the way he acted during his campaign, has to make one wonder, of his capabilities. He'd be 78 years old, if he get another term. Isn't it about time, we had a mandatory retirement age for these people. It seems they love being Senators, more than what is good for their constituents. Time to hang it up, Senator.
  15. We all pretend we know about politics but keep voting for the same ego driven, career minded wall flowers who are spawned from our local level. As an Arizonan I wished politicians (left and right) like McCain would just go away, that's all I can say since I have voted against every supposedly experience politician my entire life and they continue to keep their jobs. What's wrong with us????
  16. The man has never held a real job in his life. He's been in the military, worked for his father-in-law's company, and been in Congress. Not putting down the duties of the military and Congress, but it seems he's allergic to the private sector. True, if he left the Senate now he wouldn't exactly be forced to go on job interviews or take a position he'd be afraid of getting fired from, but public sector work is all he knows.
  17. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. it is not an easy thing for someone to give up and he still does not realize that he should be off to the knacker's yard
