How many Americans voted for Ron Paul? What were the total number of votes cast for him?

I've tried to search it, but all I get is Ron Paul propoganda. I want to see if the "tea parties" numbers are about the same. What I got was the FACT that he is the one behind the EXTREMIST VIOLENCE ! He was the messiah of the KKK ! They love him ! Only 2% of voters voted for him ! He's a LOONIE !

3. Search for 2008 election results and leave Ron Paul out of the search. You will end up with a list that includes about 30 candidates and the vote talley for each. EDIT: 41,905 according to Wiki. I'm still looking for the other site I found that had more detail.
