Did Governor Mitt Romney sign universal health care into law in Massachusetts?

If so, why didn't GOP supporters attack him for doing so like they attack Dems for considering it? 6. I am a strong advocate of Universal Health Care, but in the Republicans defense, he is just insisting that everyone purchase private helath care, which is OK by most Republicans. They just don't like government-sponsored health care. (Because there is no CEO to make a bnillion dollars there)
