Why do people think that Ron Paul is a liberal when he is actually an ultra Conservative?

Those who endorse big government, corporation's, or the military complex are liberal. Those like Ron Paul who are against power hungry corrupt politicians and there controlling issues of dependency; are true Conservatives. We the American people are directed to look at divisional moral issues to choose our party line while both party's are grabbing more power and control at every chance. While we may disagree about heath care abortion and other controversial issues; I think we can all agree that we must address the corruption and bureaucracy before we can hope to be properly represented. 10. The words 'liberal' and 'conservative' don't really mean anything anymore, at least not anything like what they used to mean. Anyway, Paul is a libertarian, which is not really either, it's off in a different direction. And though I don't agree with Paul on much, I do have to agree with -you- that while we all might want different things from government, none of us are going to get what we want until we do something about the corruption, until we make govt. responsive to the people. This means decreasing the importance of money in politics and reforming campaign financing. Now that the Republicans are on the outs, and the Democrats are the ones getting all the money from 'all the usual suspects', we're going to see a reversal of roles when it comes to reform. The Republicans now will be all for reform, the Democrats will say it isn't necessary.

CONSTITUTIONALISM makes his minimalist govt involvement in peoples lives look libertarian. however to left wingers, constitutionalist anti govt involvement views are "conservative" to neocons who lubricated, long, thin fingers finding those tight holes, constitutionalism is "liberal". "Not in agreement with Dr. Paul on much", means you are not in agreement with the Constitution on much. Besides appearence, I do agree, that Constitutionalism is VERY CONSERVATIVE, but ALSO very liberal for the freedoms it allows by limiting government roles. However you want to label it, I love it.
