Do people think Senator Barack Obama should of gave a speech in Europe while running for President?
I do not feel that Senator Barack Obama should of given the speech in Europe. I think him going to a War zone is good and meeting with the troops is good. He is just a canidate trying to get elected he is not the President. You don't see other Senators or Congress Men doing this. 200,000 Germans went to see him speak oh boy! I think that he went out of bounds.
Public Comments
- Good, let him annoy the euros for a while.
- McCain has done the same, only 200,000 were not interested in listening
- Why not. Two hundred thousand people came to hear him but none of them understood English. Its better that they couldn't understand him anwyway. He'll just say something different the next time he goes there - hopefully as a private citizen then.
- Honestly, as a Senator he has the right. Since he is within his legal right, I don't see a problem with it.
- Didn't he promise to give them all free beer and pretzels?
- no, i think you missed the entire point of him going overseas and giving speech or speeches ? in order to function in this world we need close allies and friends which is why he went there to seek friendship from our former friends and to improve our image overseas, haven't you noticed when Bush goes overseas people protest and burn our flag but when Obama went same people cheered and raised American flags ?
- listen, the rest of the world can see how stupid we have been for electing dubya,, even our friends like brittain and ireland know that he's a motard,,, it's refreshing that at least now they know that we're not all idiots, at least we have somebody running that can pronounce nuclear,, geesh,, people are stubborn,, i'm at a loss as to how, anybody can ever vote republican again, ever,,
- Senator Obama along with Republican Senator Chuck Hagel; went to European and Middle East committee chairs of the State Department; for fact findings. Many people are not aware of the various committees that exist in the Congress. Some require travel aboard. By chance, Obama happen to be involved in a General Election. Remember McCain also visited last month to South America.
- no he shouldnt but the germans think he will be a puppet for them and he will weaken america and they love that.
- Well, there are other humans in this world besides those who reside in the USA.....and since the US is supposedly the most powerful country in the world don't you think that people in Europe and other continents are interested in who will be our leader? There are also many many Americans who reside in Europe and vote via absentee ballot.....we are not just citizens of the USA we are citizens of this world so I think it is completely appropriate and dignified for him to speak in Europe.
- He hates Euro or whites and basically proved it! Bye now!
- If a french likes Obama.....makes my day. McCain gal.
- No, openly soliciting a foreign country's citizens to influence our election is a huge insult to Americans. These kinds of trips are supposed to have a purpose. Like gathering information relevant to policy or meeting with American voters serving overseas. He did it as a campaign tactic. Mr. Hussein Obama went to Berlin to address Germans. Why? because his loyalty doesn't lie with America, it lies with the global community of Socialists. I don't care how many people in a foreign country like an American candidate, but if they're commies who pressure their men to pee sitting down then I'd say that's a clue not to vote for him.
- McCain also talked outside the country but he is disliked worldwide. Other counries know that Obama is the future.
