Who do you think is more likely to win the Republican primary?

Who do you think is more likely to win the Republican primary? What do you think about each of the Republicans running in the primary? I think it will come down to Rudy Giuliani or John McCain. Rudy did alot of great things for New York City and McCain seems to have a great working knowledge of foreign policies and issues. I don't think it would be wise to put any of the other republicans against Hillary or Obama. Fred Thompson, though I like him, makes exaggerated remarks that give you a feeling of too much drama. Mitt Romney just seems like a fish out of water. Ron Paul is that grouchy old man that yells at kids for ringing his doorbell on Holloween even though his porch light is on. Mike Huckabee seems to be a good guy but just isn't known well enough. The rest are ghosts, never heard of unless their name is being called during a debate and forgotten seconds after they're done speaking.

  1. Ron Paul, you may think he is grouchy but he is the only one against open borders, amnesty to illegal aliens, drop taxes and spending, against NAFTA, SPP, and the war in Iraq. Besides serving for 5 years and being married 50 years to his wife, no other republican addresses the issues like he does.
  2. I think Fred Thompson or Ron Paul will win it, it's anyone's guess at this point. Current polls place Thompson and Guliani dead even, with Paul cruising right up to third past the other candidates. Paul has had the biggest growth since March, he cannot be discounted no matter how much I dislike him. Thompson is my pick, because he's one of few up there so far that has conservative values. Guliani is a RINO and running for the wrong party, in my opinion. I've no flippin idea why he's been ahead, I can only attribute that to polls bought and paid for. Ron Paul is a NUT CASE. He reminds me of a schizophrenic Barney Fife. He doesn't need the white house, he needs a padded room. McCain doesn't have a chance. His immigration policy hurt him badly a long time ago and it's unrecoverable. He sits last in most polls at around 4%. As for the others - who? That's the problem. They've spent WAY too much time prostituting themselves to two states only that I've no idea what they stand for, because I don't live in said states, and I obviously do not matter to them.
  3. I think Rudy's going to fold after a few moments in the sunshine when people realize that he's too tainted and unprepared for the presidency. John McCain redeemed himself somewhat in the debate and might have a pretty good chance if he distances himself sufficiently from the president's war policy. As far as Thompson is concerned, he is certainly very presidential and might win quite a few hearts with his Ronald Reagan imitation. If McCAIN doesn't wake up and smell the coffee, THOMPSON might just be the nominee. I agree with all you said about the other GOP candidates, especially Huckabee. He really handled Ron Paul's tirade well in the debate.
  4. I am for John McCain he's a very solid, honest, eloquent guy. A war hero on top of all that and highly intelligent.
  5. It should be Mike Huckabee as he is the best Republican candidate, but it will more than likely be Guiliani. Fred Thompson doesn't go to Church enough to suit the Conservative base. Mitt Romney has 5 sons and not one of them has fought or will fight in Iraq. And Ron Paul is a Libertarian and the Republican good ole boy club will never let him get the nomination. And John McCain is just getting too old and suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome from being a prisoner of war. But I respect him more than any of the other candidates.
  6. Ron Paul. He has the best working knowledge of the Constitution.
  7. Neither one of those two are going to win and certainly not ROn Paul. This election cycle is so unique for so many reasons but you are going to have to have enough money to run competitively in several states simultaneously. But to answer your question, Giuliani can't get by the social conservatives in the major primary states that generally pick the candidate and McCain is viewed as a RINO (republican in name only) by the base who vote and they, quite frankly, hate him. When all is said and done, it will be Romney. Mark my words.
