Why are people now accusing John McCain of being racist?

Someone just posted a question asking if McCain use to be in the KKK. I thought we should nip this in the bud. John McCain has a Black daughter… Cindy led 55 medical missions to third world and war-torn countries during AVMT's seven years of existence. On one of those missions, Mother Teresa convinced Cindy to take two babies in need of medical attention to the United States. One of those babies is now their black adopted daughter, 16-year-old Bridget McCain. This was not done to win the election. They adopted their daughter, way before Angelina Jolie made adopting a child from a third word country popular. So, your saying he is still a racist because she was born in Bangladesh and not Africa. Most of the websites have identified her as being black.   7. Isn't that the best thing they have? Why do you think supporting Obama is so attractive? The "You're a racist" argument is one that stops people in their tracks. I can see why idiots would flock to a guy with such an emotionally effective counter-argument, how can you lose? No one wants to be percieved as a racist.

McCain and his wife.... just want to be President.. and looking at our nation's history of almost 300 years, we have had only old white men for President.... so he has a good chance just because of that... regardless who is against him!

Well, in all of my years of churchgoing, I've never seen or heard any such comments in any church I've gone to! So for that reason, the Obama camp is trying to scrape together whatever they can to fire back at John McCain. They're trying to smear someone who has been largely untouchable, while trying to hide an escalating pile of dirty laundry from Obama's past. And now they've got my candidate, Hillary Clinton, in on the production. That won't cut it for me, I'm voting for Mr. McCain in this election.
  10. McCain is a war hero, and he has my respect. Everyone of us has prejudices. It is part of the human condition. I am not justifying hate, I am just stating an immutable truth about our nature. McCain isn't a racist. Neither is Obama. These are both good men. If people are willing to believe these lies so easily and incredulously, it makes me truly despair. Where is wisdom?

  14. It is an adopted black daughter. Who can still be treated as a slave legally in the United States? Is it not your legal children? Arizona grows a lot of cotton. Did you also know he referred to a now retired congressman JC Watts as an uppity "N" on CNN a few years ago. The Democrats just kept hush hush about it and told Byrd to keep his damn mouth shut. Now, that is inexcusable!!
  17. Bush started that when he was running against McCain in the presidential primaries 8 years ago. Which president will kill the most American soldiers in Iraq/Iran in the next 4-8 years? Vote based on the issues. Stop being so shallow. Lives are at stake in this election.

  19. yeah yeah- bla, bla, bla, bla- all of those superficial, "look, i'm not racist- my best friend in high school was black!" kind of statements. His daughter is not black, but of Indonesian descent, i believe. At any rate, he's probably no more racist than is Obama- but don't believe for one second that the hardcore racists are not in the McCain camp- and he's going to have to implement policies to please them if he wants to get their votes and be elected president. They're certainly not going to support Obama anyway, but they may decline to vote, or vote for some libertarian candidate if McCain doesn't do what they want him to do. And, no- I'm not saying he's a racist at all, and I think it's a noble deed whenever ANYONE chooses to adopt any child, regardless of that child's ethnicity, even when people like Madonna, the McCains, and Angelina Jolie may just be doing it for show. I just think that the presence of Obama as the democratic choice for president has driven the hardcore conservatives (that's a code word for racist) to the McCain camp, and he will be forced to act in their interest if he wants them to support him, regardless of whether or not he himself is racist.
