Mitt Romney:Best Republican Nominee?

Being a succesful businessman and governor Romney has great knowledge about economics...knowledge which John McCain lacks. Strategically it is a good choice since bringing Romney on the team might swing some fence sitting states over to McCain.Plus McCain's expirience in military affairs (which appeases alot of republicans) and Romney's knowledge of economy it would be a solid match up and would steer people further from the idea that McCain is just a "Bush puppet". Sorry, meant to say best republican VP nominee

  1. I'm not a republican, but I do agree with you.
  2. it doesn't matter who we bring in as VP democrats will call them all the same because neither of them are black. But Romney is the best option.
  3. Although his Mormonism will put people off, I consider him the logical choice for McCain. And I say that as an independent who still wouldn't vote for McCain or Obama.
  4. Romney is a mixed bag at best. There are still many conservative Christian voters, particularly in the South - who are suspicious of his Mormon faith and beliefs. If Romney helps McCain some in Michigan and the industrial Mid-West, he could also hurt him in the South, particularly in states like Mississippi or Georgia with a large black voter turnout already favoring Obama.
  5. Yes and I voted for Mitt Romney in the primary election in Michigan..my first Republican but I was in High School when his father George Romney was Governor of Michigan and George Romney was also a very successful businessman and politician. Yes, McCain is seen as George III. It is too bad people have to associate the two as I think McCain would be his own man and Mitt Romney would be a very good Vice President
  6. That is a pretty solid argument. Romney has the "cred" with it comes to economic matters, no doubt about it. McCain has it on military matters and National Security. If McCain would get his mind right about illegal aliens and drilling in Anwar, this would be an unbeatable ticket. To paraphrase an old Bill Clinton campaign slogan: "ITS THE PRICE OF OIL, STUPID!" *
  7. He is not any kind of nominee. Will have to see how is plays out for the VP slot.
  8. As I voted for Mitt in the primary I obviously think he would be a good choice for the Vice-President slot.
  9. At one time I thought he was, but now all these reports are coming about that Mitt and Mccain do not like each other and it would be difficult working together. So..now I hear some blond man might take the position. Sorry I dont remember blondie's name
  10. In my opinion he is. I think he would bee a better president, but I didn't get my choice. In fact McCain was not even my 5th choice. But he's still a gazillion times better than that piece of crap the democrats are offering.
  11. i'm for mitt romney. however i dont think his religion should be a factor, just as obama's race and religion shouldn't be a factor. the constitution is designed to protect us from mixing religion with polics, so its not like either one of them would try to force mormon/jewish/muslim/hindu beliefs upon us. the only way that i see that religion factors into politics (or at least, how it SHOULD effect politics) are the morals things that a religion teaches, ie about abortion, gay marriage, etc. i personally had some concerns about romney becoming president back when he was competing for the partys nomination. as a member of the lds church myself (mormon) i was kinda afraid that everything he did would reflect on the church. for example if he kept us in iraq for more then a year everyone would say our church likes wars, or if he revised welfare they would say our church wants poor people to die, etc. being VP is a good role for him, it would give him more experiance, i think he is qualified for the job and would do it well, and in the end nothing bad could happen because the VP doesn't really do that much anyway :P it would also be a good chance to show not only the nation, but the world that mormons are not old wrinkly men with beards, no electricity, and 4 wives.
  12. No. You were right the first time. I hope the republicans realize their mistake with this lame campaign McLame is running and vote for Romney instead at the convention. I am sure it is against the rules but rules are meant to be broken.
