Why is Barack Obama always getting trashed on the sidelines over petty issues?
Barack Obama is the first true civil rights leader I have seen in a long time. Being as such, he is less likely to sell out the country to AIPAC like John McCain and Hillary Clinton most certainly do. Is this why Barack Obama is getting slandered from the sidelines by people who appear to be diverse? Avatars Lie. First off Barack Obama is not racist. Second I have yet to see a quote by rev. wright that is racist.
Public Comments
- how can you say being a racist america hating socialist is petty
- I don't know. People will find any way possible to attack the man. And yes, first responder, racism isn't an issue but Obama isn't racist. People like to believe he's racist but that's it.
- Obama would sell out his own grandma for political gain instead of admitting he was wrong... o wait he already did
- Petty issues? I think that attending sermons that are blatantly racist for many years isn't conduct suited for a presidential candidate. Thats just wrong.
- These are not petty issues. He's getting what he deserves!
- they fear him
- Ignorance, fear, desperation that their candidate is about lose.
- OBAMA WILL NOT LET CORP AMERICA CONTROL HIS WHITEHOUSE - that is the REAL ISSUE and the reason he is been attacked this weeks attacks, using the words of his rev is petty they are not the words of obama it would be like saying hillary is homophobic if she was a catholic or that she is anti-abortion if she was catholic IMAGINE WASHINGTON CORP FREE a place where politicians repressent THE PEOPLE - that is what is REALLY GOING ON it's got nothing to do with obamas rev or other old school dirt obama is an honest man - get over it
- You think that Racism is a petty issue ?
- These are not petty things!!!!!! Do I need to make a list for you? Farrakhan Rezko Wright Michelle-not proud Not wearing the flag pin Not putting his hand on his heart. His church website Him calling for Don Imus to be fired when he is even worse for sitting 20 years in that church. Renouncing his white side-it is in his book. And there is more.
- obama is the one whose campaign uses the "racial" card every time a question comes that they prefer not to answer. It is a sad day for America when a candidate running for election for the highest office in our land uses the charge of "race" to sidestep questions and deflect attention form his stand on issues. And for so many to blindly follow is simply amazing.I am disappointed that more people have not done their homework on this "divider" who is masquerading as a "uniter".
- I don't want a civil rights leader. I want a president that can run the country without racial prejudice.
- People are afraid of him because he is different, so they will make up anything they can to bring him down. He isn't racist, but all the people who constantly bash him obviously are.
- he is doing good in his campaing denouncing our present social apartheid.
- Read his book- he trashes the white side of his family. Blacks can be racist too. It's a 2 way street. This whole situation will take us back to the 1960's if we aren't careful.
- Because he has never done anything substantial to get bashed about........
- Because these issues aren't "petty" to many people. As far as "civil rights leader" nothing in his actual record shows that. Putting on a smile and nice clothes, getting up in front of cameras and selling yourself as a voice for diversity, doesn't make it true.
- Both are racist, it is not a trivial issue, the American people are taking this very seriously.
- You call listening to a minister who says, "God damn America" trivial? LOL. not for the presidency. You're lost.
- Barack Obamantion has proven he's a racist by going to the same church for 20 years that has blasphemed the white race, so much so his own white mother wouldn't go to it, and now 20 years later when he's running for president he negates what was said.He exposed his 2 daughters for their entire lives to what is to say the least,a subtext of anti-white vitriol. And you have the nerve to make a statement that he's doesn't deserve being slandered. How dare you even mention this racist in the same sentence as a man that fought and suffered for this country like John McCain?
- You are wrong. This uproar has nothing to do with prejudice and fear. About Barack Hussein Obama, it is a lack of JUDGEMENT and flawed CHARACTER and not RACE that has changed my vote. I think Obama is a brilliant orator, but so was Hitler. We need UNITY and Obama attends a DIVISIVE church and allies himself with a separatist preacher who he is unwilling to denounce. He made these choices in his life. He could have chosen a church that preaches LIFE and UNITY instead of HATE and SEPARATISM but he did not. His choices have consequences. He should step down and work hard for racial unity for 8 years and try again. We already have a President with poor judgement, the last thing we need is another one. I could care LESS what color he/she is. I care about what is INSIDE their skin.
- Obama is a Chicago politician and knows how to play the game he is not the new coming of God I have seen him getting a free ride in the coverage and see people like Chris Mathews beating on Hillary on a Daile basis My biggest problem with him is he is too green to take on the job of president and will "if he wins" be another Jimmy Carter and set the democratic party back another twenty years
- You must be black , He is not being trashed . He is running for president and the american people have every right to know what he is like and talk about him . I mean they have been at Hillery from day one. Obama is the one that has been going to a church that he had to have known would cause him trouble. So are you saying that If Mccane been hanging out in a white racist church or just made those comments the black community would be quiet. PLEASE! You would be holding riots and protest, You cant have it both ways. Hows it feel.
- We have enough civil rights leaders and what have they done, created more divisions, given excuses for bad behavior instead of moving on. I am white, I am afraid of any gang, any murderer, any rapist. I despise any racist. He is not getting my vote by still defending the actions of a black man who lives in the past. He did nothng to convince that racist that he was wrong. He didn't stand up to what was right. He has bad judgements. He and Michelle and plenty others have not been held down by the white man. America did not commit genocide in Africa. Racism is not a "petty issue," and I think J. Wrong would agree with me. As Obama does also obviously. Clinton is not a n*gger, Obama knows what it is to be a black man living in a world controlled by rich white man. The whte man in America gave black drugs, they committed genocide on Africa, They make 3 strike laws and throw the blacks in prison and then want us to God Bless America, NO NO NO GOD D*** Amerikkka. Is that enough? I know my church would not say GOD D*** Amerikkka. That would be a sin in a real Christian Church. TOON: John McCain's pastor has not been heard from, you are claiming things not true. Hagee and Parsley are not his mentors. He goes to a church in Arizona.
- I have to say this... and it's not because I am black. You can check all my responses and you will see where I stand on things like this. They have been really beating down on him over a pastor... he is not the pastor. I went to an anglican school and the pastor and some of the authority figures in the school were racist (in my view )against east-indians. Does that mean I should be held accountable for the teachers. Or I should denonce a school that had its problem but at the same time provided me with an education that enabled me to make up my own mind about issues. You will notice I never commented on the alleged John McCain affair because it is silly and ment to side track people from the real issues at hand. The truth is... pastors... are people too. The sin too. they lack proper judgement too. And if there is a crowd of people cheering his statements, would he stop and think... hmm this might be worng to say... NO. Is Obama a racist... No. How can he hate half himself. Remember his mother... gave him what his father didn't... and education and hope and she is the reason he is able to run for president today. Does he hate his mother? NO. I know I love his mother and I don't even know her... but I know she must have been a strong woman. I'll hate to see a worthy presidential candidate take the fall for someone else's statement... It's not fair. I don't even know who baptised me... I better go check in case I want to run for office because If he ever said or did anything stupid I'll be to blame. I implore you, please don't loose focus of this. FOX (the source) has been looking for something to pin on Obama since he started to pick up pace... only thing they couldn't convince people he was a muslim when they reported that crap email as news so now they find a new way to attack him... his pastor. John McCain has a equally outspoken and racist pastor and no one is talking about him... and again I don't think they should. I was blessed with a brain and I am able to tell what sort of person John is without having any slanted media shove it down my throat. I saw his story about his time Vietnam, I was moved by it, as I was moved by Obama's story about his struugle to overcome the adversities placed in his way... to grow from nothing to the president of the harvard law review (a first for a black person). So really why are letting the media tell us about these men. I know they are both great candidates.... I prefer Obama because he is a democrat but if John was a dem... I would like him just as much. The Media sucks...
