3. he did well in 2000 in iowa, then won big in hew hampshire, then just before the so carolina primary there was a phone "survey" set up by karl rove, where many SC voters were called and asked "if they knew john mccain fathered a mixed race baby out of wedlock, would that affect their vote in the SC primary?". Dirty trick, bush won SC and mccain never recovered.
