Why is Rudy Giuliani hated so much, even by the voters of New York?
Former mayor of NYC Ed Koch stated "(The verdict of Florida's voter) will drive a stake through his heart. The beast is dead." I personally did not like him because he made a profit from 9/11. He used that tragedy to divide America. His machismo attitude was vulgar and fake. He bent over for George W. Bush at the expense of the good people of New York. What is your opinion of Rudy Giuliani?

- Maybe it has something to do with his arrogance and corruption.
- I try not to think about him.
- I think he is a liberal. He supports gay marriage and abortion.
- He's just a weasel...he doesn't seem to have any admirable qualities whatsoever. His behavior is very unappealing.
- Because he was a crappy mayor who got lucky - a bad thing happened to the city on his watch and he was able to orchestrate the cleanup effort. Unfortunately, he was too stupid to know that chanting, "9/11, 9/11, 9/11" isn't enough to win you the Presidency of this country.
- He started a private consulting firm that profited from 9-11 and he fired the police commissioner responsible for NYC's drop in crime and replaced him with a corrupt thug who is now facing charges.
- He's a bully. Has no morals. He had an affair with his soon to be 3rd wife in Gracy Mansion while his wife and kids were asleep upstairs........... All he had to run on was that he was mayor of NYC on 911.
- He was a hell of a lot better then Dinkins. NYC was known as Crack City when he wa mayor. He cleaned up NYC and reduced crime.Of course,Koch being a Dem what else do you expect of him.
- He said "911" too many times, we got sick of hearing it. He happened to be in office when it happened. So what. Whoever was in office would have done pretty much the same things he did (which was overseeing cleanup and being shown on TV). I didn't make him any more qualified on national security than anyone else. He shouldn't have made this his central campaign. His ties to the mafia and sexual scandals also hurt him.
- why are people so obsessed and confused between repudiation and choosing another political slant from some other candidate that appeals to yourself? the hate word is used here instead of appropriate intelligent questions regarding positions and issues..which is politics hatred is an emotion.
- One more time. Then I'm done due to his irrelevance. He's a Creep!
- Quoting Ed Koch, a Democrat, on Rudy Giuliani, a Republican, would be a little like quoting Bill Clinton on George Bush. (And for what its worth, I think Koch's views are valid.)
- Amy and a lot of you are idiots. You all are sitting back in your seats doing what? Eating cheetos and watching Oprah - oh, and beating on a guy who did one hell of a job in New York, NOT only after the worst attack ever mounted against our country but also during his tenure as mayor. Yet you sit back and talk mess about how he "got lucky"??? Was it getting lucky to have a few jets fly into our WTC? How is that getting lucky? Was that just serendipity? How nice for Rudy that he was mayor at that time and could enjoy all of the fame he received as a result of that trajedy and being the one who had the opportunity to rise up to the challenge. Amy - you're an idiot. As for the person who asked the question - you're an idiot as well. He rose up at a time that we needed (NYC) a leader. If not him, who? What if this was handled by the Governor of Louisianna? FEMA? Would that have made NYC happy? No - a few people needed to rise up. As far as stats go, an independent poll released in December showed that 59 percent of registered voters in New York said he had an "excellent" or "good" chance of being elected president. Contrast that with 52 percent who said Sen. Clinton had either an "excellent" or "good" chance of winning the White House while only 27 percent gave that same rating to outgoing New York Gov. George Pataki. The survey was conducted by Blum & Weprin Associates for Newsday/NY1. So, say what you want to say but in NYC, where people needed the help from their leader, they got what they needed. And this profit?? What profit - so he wrote a book??? So he speaks?! People want to hear from him. I do! He did a great job. In life, if you want to be successful, you need to hang around successful people - you learn from them. Well, read their books. Go hear them speak. If you work for a company and want to be the CEO, try to get into the meetings where the CEO is, and if you can't do that, get into meetings where the next level down is, or the next level down from there is. You learn what you can from people who are good at what they do and are doing what you want to do. And guess what? When you do what you love, you get good at it - and what comes next? The money follows so get over it blowhards. This is the most hilarious string I have ever seen in my life!
- I don't give a rats @ss about Giuliani. He's out of the race and he really was not president material. So few are. It's a crap shoot...Koch didn't like him cause he was a republican.
