How will Romney hold out againist others in the Republican primaries?

Now that Mitt Romney is officially in the running for the 2008 election, what are his chances againist more popular republicans, such as McCain and Guliani? How can he win or what will he need to do in order to win the Republican nomination?

1. He's going to have to raise a heck of a lot of money to overcome his lack of name recognition and he's going to have to do it fast because several states are moving their primaries up to February 08. He's going to have to spend a lot of money in several states, early and can't rely on just having a good showing in Iowa and NH and then gaining contributions because he might be buried by then.
