Did Barack Obama do the right thing in Germany? What would you have done?

This week, while in Germany, Barack Obama was scheduled to visit with wounded soldiers at the US Army's Landstuhl Regional Medical Facility. Just before his scheduled visit, he was told by the Army that policy forbade political activity at the hospital and as such, he could not bring his campaign staffers and video crew with him. He was allowed to visit in his role as a US Senator and bring a political aide with him. On hearing this policy (which has been in force for a number of years), Barack Obama canceled his scheduled visit and instead checked into the Ritz Carlton hotel and worked out in the gym. Barack Obama thinking was, "If I can not have my picture taken with the soldiers for a campaign ad, why bother to visit?"   4. Probably because it would not have been set up to look like 200,000 people came out to see him. The speech he gave in Berlin was conveniently scheduled after a concert that featured 2 popular German bands. Some of the pictures I saw even had the bands in the background packing up equipment. I saw the pictures yesterday at work, and will post the link here when I can find it.   5. I thought it was cool what he did. McCain was too chicken to go anywhere...people hate what McCain stands for : more war.

  7. This was such a baddd decision. Shows who and what he really is. Even Hillary gave up publicity to visit wounded soldiers. For a trip lasting eight days that was supposed to help him assess the war and learn foreign affairs, he sure spent VERY little time with the troops!

  9. You have layed this out very well. Obama is now and forever in the hearts of many in this country, a very bad person. When he made his decision based on the criteria he had to choose from, and did what he did. He layed him self out on the arena floor of life. He bared his soul so to speak. And that became his waterloo. He is dead man walking to hundreds of thousands of familys in this country. What he did in Afghanistan is just as bad. There was a post last night on this board, by a Army Cpt. At the first place Barack arrived to visit. This Capt, had his men lined up to meet the Senator. Hand shake and whatever. Obama arrives. Doesn't even acknowledge them, Blows them off, gos to the 2 stars tent to have his meeting. Ends that screws off and leaves saying nothing to anyone. Next thing you see from him is his 3 point jump shot for the camera. If this is what this country wants, then we are not only in serious trouble as a Nation, We are in serious trouble as a whole. I have a Son in Afghanistan he is a Full Col. He has been in that Theater for 4 years now. He took his SF teams and moved them out of the area that Obama was going to be in. He didn't want his men or there morale darkened by what this fool could do. And he was right,
  10. His thinking is without a photo what is the use. We know he has no use for the military. This is probably the reason he didn't enlist, and has no patriotism or compassion for anything other that a vote in November. He is as empty a man as they come. If he truly cared about the people defending this country, he would have gone for the visit. Do we need more proof of the type of man this is? ~
  11. I think what Obama did was the best thing for the country. He showed us what he was made of. Showed us why he is unelectable, Showed us why we should just say NO to Obama.
