Why doesn`t Joe Biden get more consideration for the Democratic ticket?

He seems to know his stuff.

  1. Biden is a very good candidate but he has been unable to gain support. A few months ago Biden was among the top democratic candidates, unfortunatly he hasn't been able to stay up in the polls or the money race.
  2. he loves to hear himself talk .
  3. he isn't bleeding heart ethnic/gender minority democratic material
  4. I preface my answer in saying that I am a Conservative Republican. That being said, I think Joe Biden is the only credible candidate that the Dems have running. I don't necessarily agree with everything the guy does but I give him credit for saying what he means and sticking to his convictions no matter how popular or unpopular his opinion might be. I like the guy personally. If a dem has to win I wish it was him.
  5. You TRY and out talk an ignorant woman and see how many words you'll get in..
  6. Democrats are famous for passing over their more intelligent party members and embracing those with insider connections and a smooth relationship with the party elite. John Kerry was a disaster of a candidate, but he was rich, he was well connected, he was smug and he was well-connected within the Democratic elite. Some of the most eloquent and interesting Democratic members in the congress aren't given the time of day in that party, meanwhile earmark gluttons and K-street collaborators like Nancy Pelosi rocket up the party power circles. Biden is not a perfect candidate, but he has the most experience with foreign policy, and actually has policy papers on a number of issues, that put many of the other Democratic candidates to shame. He's a lousy fund raiser though, can't schmooze with the money brokers in his own party, and refuses to bend his opinion to the latest political tide. If you don't have a rubber neck and spine, Democrats seem to ignore you. Biden's inability to make any real noise in his candidacy, proves the Democratic party couldn't smell a decent candidate, if was drifting under their nose holding a bouquet of flowers. This is the party that nominated Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis after all.
  7. I like Biden. If you watch him in the debates though, it's as if he's more concerned about the other candidate's feelings than winning the nomination. Maybe that's why most people who know him, likes him so much because he's so diplomatic with his adversaries. That's nice, but no way to win. Republicans and democrats like him, but he needs more fire in his heart to win. It just doesn't seem like he wants it badly enough. He has experience. He has bipartisan connections and the only thing his opponents can dig up on him is the teenaged (college) plagerism incidence, which actually makes me like him more! He needs to run to win if he wants better numbers. Not cater to his fellow dems so much.
  8. Because the media will only focus on a woman, a black man, a moron, oops I meant mormon, or the man who dealt with 9/11. I guess those things are all that matter in a presidential race. Its crazy that Biden is not blowing away all other candidates. He has more important and relevant experience than anyone else running for president.
