What is up with all this racism about Barack Obama?

I've seen so much racist crap on Yahoo Answers about Barack Obama recently - it's insane. People are saying he's unfit to be president as his middle name is Hussein. People saying he's unfit because his father was once a Muslim. He's unfit because he's black. He's unfit because his name is similar to Osama bin Laden. Is this how Americans really think? Is this the image you want to portray to the world?

3. I'd like to believe that most of the people who complain about his name weren't going to vote for him anyway over real policy differences, but if that is really all they have against him, what a petty, petty thing to base your vote on.

14. The people that say that crap, said that John F. Kennedy was unfit to be president because he was a catholic. There is always a first time for everything. People that say that about Obama are small, little & dumb.Little people that doesn't deserve our attention. I respect more the people that said Obama should not be president because of something he did or not did, in something he believes or not believes, he stand on the issues, etc....

16. Sorry wish that I could jump on this bandwagon and help you out with claiming racism. If I looked for it I could find it in any uneducated opinion poll. I choose to look at the issues ahead of us and how any of the candidates feel about this. I am older and maybe my generation has found it better to look at the person vs race etc etc that always gets people excited and mis -directs their attention from the issues. So racism is a choice. It is also a good defense for a candidate that just doesn't make the goal. In my humble opinion.
17. It does'nt matter of he is fit, what is important is whether he can stop people from making a trip to the polls to vote for the other guy. John Edwards could do this, as can other white man. as for Obama.....In order to believe in the idea of "President Obama" you have to believe racism ho longer exists.
