Do you believe that Mitt Romney is a good choice for President?
Yeah, I know what everyone is thinking. He's mormon so no or he is a flip flopper. Minus those two things what makes him in your mind a bad choice or a good choice and why?
Public Comments
- He is a good choice because he has proven that he can succeed in both the private and public sectors. He isn't my first choice, but he would be a fine president.
- He must be. The dems and the media are hyping McCain and Huckleberry. Never take advice from your enemies.
- None. He will drop out after Super Tuesday. The Republicans will choose McCain or that nut job, squirrel eating Huckabee.
- He is a total fascist. I plan to switch parties this year just to vote for McCain over Romney. I am indifferent between the three Democrats and want to hedge my bets.
- Mitt Romney is an Android.
- He's way too conservative and will only serve to divide our nation worse than it is right now. We need a person who can be president of ALL people, not just the Christian Right.
- No. Sometimes I like the words coming out of his mouth but there's just something "off" and fake about him. I just don't trust the guy. I'm voting for Huckabee.
- He is a slick-looking used-car salesman. He just doesn't appear honest. His lies against Huckabee and McCain in his little TV adds were disgusting as well. It's clear he has no ethics - he only wants to win. He only had one term as Governor of Massachusetts - I guess they don't like him either. Reply to Brandon A: Since mid-December, the media HATES Huckabee!
- Anyone running for president has met the qualifications. He is as good as anybody else mormon or not and being able to change your mind is a good thing ,life itself is a constant change, you will not be the same tomorrow guaranteed. However none of these people have the country as a priority because they are driven by special interest groups. This country has lost a lot in the eyes of the world in the last few years especially in terms of economic power,he could turn things around if he put the country first.
- 100% perfect for the job!! The USA needs a great man to lead us! No one has his experience in so many different areas. GO MITT!!!!
- I'm a Democrat . . . If he gets the nod I'll vote for him for sure if its Obama and maybe if it's Hillary.
- I don't like his stances on taxes, social security, and the Iraqi war. That's why I don't think he would make a good President.
- i met him and he is wonderful. i live in nh and he turned around a very liberal massachussets. he did a good job in the private sector and in the olympics. he has the strenghth and brains to lead america into a bright and safe future
- Um....Mormon.....so what? So was Steve Young. So is Orin Hatch. So is Harry Reid. Reagan surrounded himself with Mormon apointee's. Seriously....so what??? I really don't care where or if the President goes to church. I care how he'll run the country. I realize that he's changed his mind on some issues. Don't we all do that? Shouldn't we all do that as we process information and see it in a different light? Flip flopping is "pro life, pro-choice, pro life, pro choice, etc, etc, etc. He changed positions. That doesn't make him a flip flopper til he goes back to pro chioce, etc.... As for what I like about Romney.... he has made an extremely successful career of going into large organizations that had lots of problems and were near bankruptcy, and turning them around. THIS is how he's made billions of dollars. Government is the biggest business of all. Ours is near bankruptcy. Without some change we're going to have 1929 style depression all over again. All you hear from most candidates is how they're going to raise taxes (bad for the economy) and provide more services (bad for the situation on hand). This, to me, is THE issue for 2008. We've got problems that we need to deal with. If we don't take care of this, everything else will be trivial. .....and Hillary says "America can't afford all of my ideas". She's absolutely right. America can't afford Hillary....or Obama...or Edwards.
