Do you think Mitt Romney should be the next president of the United States?

He would be the first Mormon right?

Public Comments

  1. no. yes, he WOULD be the first mormon.
  2. No he shouldn't be the next president. Mormons are insane. They believe in the prophesies of their elder church group. Talk about drinking the cool aid.
  3. No, I honeslty don't think he has a good chance of becoming the next Mormon president. Mormons aren't the most respected people in the world....no offense to Mormons at all.
  4. He is a disgusting, dirty, degenerate homophobe. He should not be our president.
  5. 1. no, thanks. 2. well, the first mormon PRESIDENT. certainly not the first mormon, tho.
  6. i sure hope not.
  7. I don't think ANY politician from Massachusetts should be president!!!!!
  8. Not sure why he thinks he has anything to offer.... Oh, yeah. I want the rest of the country to be like Massachusetts...paying taxes out the nose. MA isn;t the worst, but in the top few of highest tazes
  9. Mitt Romney does not have bipartisan appeal, like McCain and Guiliani. A Republican candidate will need bipartisan appeal to win the 2008 election. Thus, I do not think that Mitt Romney has a Joseph Smith's chance to win the Republican Primary Election, let alone win the Presidential Election.
  10. yes he should be. Because he wants to protect our borders. Why is everyone so freaked out about his religion?
  11. That will be insane!
  12. Yes, he would be the first mormon. No, he should not be the next President, and not because of his religion.
  13. I've generally leaned more Democratic, but I like Romney. Out of all the GOP guys he is by far the one I feel I could trust and seems just like a good guy. He has worked well on a bipartisan level (that's how they got their health insurance program going). From what I have seen he isn't a homophobe as someone said, although he doesn't want marriage to be extended to gays (there are plenty of Democrats that feel the same way, e.g. Bill Clinton passed protection of marriage act). He just doesn't come across as a sneeky politician, like McCain and Hilary. Just my two cents. We should all just wait and see and listen with open minds. His religion...that should matter, but yes, he'd be the first. Currently there are a few Mormons in politics, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Democrat) and Orin Hatch, who did try to run in 2000.
  14. If he has good morals, values, and makes principled contributions to our nation, then why should it matter what his choice of religon is? It isn't like a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormon, which I am prodly a member of) would vote for a presidential candidate because they were not Mormon.
