Why do some people still think that Barack Obama is Muslim?

I told my girlfriend the other day that he's Christian and she was shocked. She thought he was Muslim!

1. There could be many reasons for this. Mostly ignorance. Some people don't read or watch tv.
2. Um, we receive e-mails that tell us it is true! I just sent a few thousand dollars to a lady in Nigeria and will soon receive 100 times that amount! We PREFER ignorance! Remember when we used to INSIST that Iraq was involved in attacking America on 9/11? We like to just make stuff up, such as the WMD were MOVED to Iran/Syria or somewhere else, facts and truth get in the way of story telling. Heck, we voted for Bush, TWICE!

21. Because there is too much mystery surrounding his birth, his family and his upbringing. Even the birth certificate he produced is fake. They didn't have computers back in 1961, birth certs were typed out on a manual typewriter.

24. Cause people are ignorant. And cause some media channels love distortion. Also, is not about what he is or the image he gives, but about what he will do, and says he will do! Also, the religion tht someone practices in private is a personal matter, and not an factor tht count for presidency in a democratic country!
25. Ignorance, racism and fear!!! I think people want to believe what they want to believe. It makes them feel better. Even after the all these rumors have been debunked one out of ten still believe Obama is a Muslim. Maybe it makes them feel better and gives them a reason not to vote for Senator Obama. I think it has a lot with being prejudice and if they actually can believe a black man can be president. It could be the the Right Wing propaganda have stuck with some people. Some people still have racist views and attitudes towards blacks. There are some people who are so narrow minded that Obama can't do anything right in their eyes. 26. oh my god. Look people, just because obamas family and friends are muslim, does NOT mean that he is! My family and friends are christians. I dont even BELIEVE in organized religion.. And im going to guess that those who say that he isnt 'qualified' voted for bush. Like bush was qualified? He ended up being a worse president then his father, a very hard task. He completed it.
