Does John McCain really understand national security issues like he would have us believe?

Please see the following before posting an answer: http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0408/How_much_does_McCain_love_Petraeus.html Also, please bear in mind that this is the third straight mistake McCain has made on such issues in three weeks. And also note that General Petraeus addressed this very issue last week in testimony before McCain's committee; the General flat out said he had no authority to divert troops from Iraq to Afghanistan to pursue AQ there. There are some very serious questions to be answered about McCain's credibility on national security issues. I guess that's why it's so convenient to make a bitter mountain out of a molehill statement!

  1. No. remember bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb iran? joking about bombings with oldies songs does not show the understanding of national security that i want in a president.
  2. I think McBush is woefully uneducated to be President. All you have to do is look at his lackluster performance at Annapolis where I believe he graduated near the bottom of his class. He was reluctant to study flight manuals when asked to. Add that to his joking about bombing Iran and admitted lack of the economy and the internal make-up of Iraq. These are not good signs.
