Will John McCain oppose or support a ban on AR-15’s & AK-47’s?

I have tried to find reliable resources for John McCain gun related issues but have found some conflicting results. Is it possible he will support a ban on AR-15’s and AK-47’s and High cap mags? He had said something to the effect he may consider supporting a ban on certain types. Love the uninformed comment..."yes we all need one in the shopping malls and school yards" FYI Assault weapons account for less than 3% of all gun related crimes

The NRA called him one of the "premier flag-carriers for the enemies of the Second Amendment." Both mainstream candidates have tip-toed around the gun control and rights issues and both claim to now have some views that oppose previous stances/votes/interviews.
3. HE SHOULD OPPOSE IT and will if he's smart. If the black criminals can have them, why shouldn't law abiding, real Americans.
4. McCain will give everyone who joins the Army a free M-16, and training. It may be one of the very few jobs available if he gets the chance.
5. There is no need to ban such weapons. The AR-15's are semi automatic weapons weaker than a typical deer rifle. An AK-47 on the other hand is a full auto weapon that requires an owner to have a special license to own or operate. The importation of AK-47's was banned several years ago. Guns don't kill people, People kill people.
6. He will probably oppeose a ban since he had no problem dropping bombs and napalm on women and babies in Vietnam. Whats do a few dead students matter..? Guns dont kill people. People kill people. But people with automatic rifles can kill even more people..!!
7. Like any other president, he will do what his jewish masters tell him to do.
