Why Is Barack Obama Launching New Tv Ads To Attack John McCain On Energy Issues?
Dose Barack Obama have a plan to help solve the energy, oil , and gas problems. What is Obama’s plan to lower the high Gas prices, and can it work?? Why did Obama vote for President Bush’s Tax breaks for the Oil companies in the first place if he “Claims” he doesn’t agree with Bush & Cheney, and now all of the sudden for the 2008 elections Obama wants to say he’ll Tax the oil companies even though he voted to give them Tax breaks in the past? Doesn’t this and many other things point to Obama just being your old typical politician that he claims he wasn’t going to be in the first place? I thought Obama said he wasn't going to run a negative campaign... and now he is the first to launch an attack ad attacking John McCain from none other then the use of Tv ads? What happen to the Debates they were supposed to have? Is Obama a Flip flopper? =\ http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gbENfaT7YaeWuH7e20fYcRLJXCGAD91PU1001

- Yes, he is "flipper", no question about it.
- He also voted against removing the gas tax. The government makes more off gas than the oil companies.
- Because McCain has admitted his plan is a waste of time: "June 24: At a town hall event on June 23, McCain didn't claim that offshore drilling would lower prices in the short term, but that it would provide "psychological impact that I think is beneficial." And because experts AGREE its a waste of time: "McCain continues to say that a suspension of the federal gas tax will lower prices for consumers, though hundreds of economists say he is wrong."
- He'll do what he has to do.. to get elected and he will be the first president to snort a line of coke in the oval office.
- the only hints at his solutions are the same ole, same ole and the same ole doesn't work......... Bye bye bama!
- Barack Obumma have heard about the Energy? Owwlala!!! Is he gonna do the same as all these Black racists, who took over the South African's energy department, and now they cant supply all of country with energy.
- Why ask these dumb questions. Both Dems and Reps both know who they are voting for in the 3000 elections. Morons. This is why they hate swing states. Swing states have the ability to vote for either candidate, where party faithfuls are too ignorant to possess this ability.
- because mccain pails in comparison. http://www.barackobama.com/issues/energy/
- Unfortunately, yes he is. I was all for him, then he started doing everything he said he'd never do and changing up his positions. Turns out he's just another dirty politician. *sigh* All hail the next president of the United States... *grumble grumble*
- Because of this... http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/obamas_oil_spill.html first attack is half the battle won ... if it doesn't run short of fuel...
- because dems are so good at wasteful spending MCCAIN 2008
- TO KEEP THE MEDIA AND AMERICAN'S ATTENTION ON MCCAIN'S PLANS VERSUS OBAMA'S PLANS BECAUSE OBAMA DOESN'T HAVE ANY!
- Because, other than war, McCain doesn't know anything else.
- THEY BOTH FLIP FLOP! you can vote for which ever one you want they both suck equally (in different ways).
- For the record, attacking McCain on energy policy (regardless of hypocrisy) is not "going negative." Going negative refers to using character assassination attacks; this would be an attack on an ISSUE. Its not considered negative campaigning. Neither Obama nor McCain have done any real negative campaigning yet; some, but not really. Having said that, yes Obama is flip-flopping. So is McCain. McCain's current campaigning has gone against most of what he voted as a Senator, just as Obama's campaign is going against most of what he did as a Senator. Its politics. Hypocrisy is the name of the game. And the beauty of hypocrisy is that it only applies to the other guy. It only applies to the other guy because you are so busy attacking the one you don't like that you don't pay attention to your own candidate's flip-flops. And the same can be said for the supporters of the other guy (in this case Obama). That is why all of our politicians are worthless. We would see their flip-flopping and hypocrisy if we weren't so distracted by the flip-flopping and hypocrisy of the other guy...
- So, he's not allowed to campaign? I think it okay to differentiate yourself from your opponent if you aren't making personal attackes.
- If he is attacked, he said he will respond. He was attacked by an ad of John McCains...where John McCain takes the cowardly position trying to appease every American voter spinlessy. Barack Obama and many other intellignet people realise we cannot drill ourselves out of this fuel dilemma, rather we most create/discover an alternative source.
- Obama knows that the people are now wanting immediate action on our situation. Obama's purposals, while worthwhile, are all long range and his only immediate solution is to conserve. McCain has both, long range and immediate solutions.. Obama has flipped on so many things that even Moveon.org has taken to make some critizism of him..who would have ever thought that would happen. i worked for a major oil company and believe me that if we were to start drilling NOW, it would not take 20 years as many of Obama's support mistakenly say on interviews. it would take maybe less than a year. the mere announcement of new drilling and of building new refineries would take an immediate toll on speculators and the price of oil would go down immediately. it would also scare OPEC and they want the money so they would also act immediately to make lomg range contracts for their production. my husband who worked for the same oil company worked on Prudo Bay...it didn't harm the caribou and the land is pristine...it would be the same with ANWAR. Obama is purposing many things that Jimmy Carter purposed but those of us who survived the Carter years are not excited to return to the Carter Era. cater's energy address to the nation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tPePpMxJaA&feature=related <EDIT> Obama is trying to make the case that McCain would be a third term for Bush..but in truth, Obama would be a Carter SECOND term.
- Um, no. McCain is a flip-flopper. Clips and newscasts from early wartime show him telling everyone the war would be quick and easy. A few months ago, videos were released with him reprimanding the American public for thinking the war would be easy and painless. Where'd they get that idea, anyway? But that's beside the point, you know. Obama has professed his respect for McCain's service for America in many comments to the press. McCain just organized a committee on the faults of Obama [I know, sounds insane, but true, read the papers]. So much for attacking... And lastly, energy and oil problems will be solved using alternative fuels, electrics...there are cars, just as normal as gas-powered ones [Fords, Toyotas, et cetera, et cetera] that run on natural gas for sale on Ebay Motors.
- Buy a clue, bro...oil as fuel is last century. The Oil Mafia doesn't want to hear that, but it's a fact that isn't going to go away. Sen.Obama is looking into the near, mid and distance future. Sen. McCain, now in bed with the reactionaries of the GOP, the folks he used to blow off before he decided to be president, is willing to let the past to be the future. Whatever Sen. Obama did or didn't do before yesterday isn't the question...the question is how to get out from under oil. First, the cost of a gallon of gasoline isn't ever going to go down. If anything its going to go up and keep going up. We could drill under the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Mount Vernon and the Arizona Memorial and it still won't make a pennies worth of difference. The only way to keep the wheels on the road and the lights on are solar, wind and natural gas. The only way to bring that evolution about is to do it by moving as rapidly as possible to 21st century technology and way higher CAFE standards...something the GOP has fought against for years. If new technology and higher mpg harms the oil and coal folks, hard cheese. If placing a tax on oil and coal to soup up such things rail travel, rapid transit, bio-fuel and tax advantaged hybrid transportation then that's what has to happen. If we have to go to rationing to reduce the incredable amount of money that now goes to middle east thugocracies that fund Terror Inc. so be it. It's time to be men and accept the fact that 'Frank Miller' is comin' in on the noon train and Marshal Obama seems to be the only one who's willing to stand up to him. The GOP lives in the oil industries butt, so it's a cinch they're not going to do anything about 'change'. For them it's drill, war and 'clean coal'. The paper thin atmosphere over our heads now has 35% more CO2 than in 1990. Burning anything is a bad idea and carbon induced rapid climate change isn't a good idea. Obama at least knows that. McCain probably does as well, but he's stuck to his 'base', not the reality of the situation. Dock the swift-boat...it ain't workin'! No kiddin'!
