John McCain?

Why do JOhn McCain's commercials seem to take a democratic stance on issues. Is JOhn McCain actually believe these things or is it a ploy to get more votes. ANd if he really does believe those things, then why is he a republican?

1. Have no doubt he's a Republican. He voted with GWB 95% of the time last year. You figure it out.
2. There is some democratic issues that he sides with the democrats on, so why not advertise those facts, as most republicans knows where he stands on most issues, so he is obviously courting Hillary Voters, and proving he can step across the line. I am saying that but have not seen these commercials myself. SO that is my guess
3. Because McCain and Obama are related. They are both related to the Bush family.
4. His views are his OWN...Some mesh with the Republicans, and some with the Democrats...He works with both sides...That's what "reaching across the aisle" is all about "My loyalty to my country comes first, my party comes second" ~John McCain No worries...You'll get used to it ;)
5. He is a true Republican - tied to George Bush at the hips.
6. he is trying to appeal to independents. anyone else would have been called a flip flopper by now but McCain... well he is a maverick and a straight talker - he can do no wrong
7. I think it's a ploy. Democrats is the trend now since Bush *ucked it up for his party
8. John McCain doesn't know which way he wants to go. He is a puppet of the present administration. He is very indecisive and that could prove evem more tragic to the country.
9. He's trying to project to people something that he is not. He voted with Bush 95% of the time, so he is definitely a republican with more of the same failed policies. Time for something different.
10. we the demarcated party don't want john McCain . so no he is not a Democrat nor do he have Dem's ideas McCain is running for a third term of the BUSH administration
11. John McCain is able to work across party lines. He has his beliefs and stands by them at the risk of the dismay of his party. He is a man of principle. You sure cant say that about obama.
12. Poor John McCain is a very old, confused man. I heard when he gets up in the morning, his wife Barbie, I mean Cindy has to remind him he's running for President. He scratches his head for a minute and says, "Oh yeah".-
