Question about Mitt Romney?

Why didn't the American people choose Mitt Romney as the Republican Nominee, and as eventual President? It looks like he would have been a real good choice. He has Political experience as a Governor; He has economic experience running Bain capital; And he's flat out a winner; People elected Bush, who many have claimed was a loser in everything he did; Well, what a surprise then, if he was a failure as a President!!!!!!!! Wouldn't the logic hold that someone who was successful in pretty much everything he did, continue to be successful as a President, and bring success to the country by extension, exactly like a Mitt Romney? Educate me Americans, on why you elected someone pundits called a failure, like with Harken Energy and Arbusto Energy in George Bush, but you won't elect a winner, like with Bain Capital and the Olympics, in a Romney?

Public Comments

  1. My sentiments exactly. McCain is a left leaning RINO. Romney understands economics and we need him NOW. I blame it on cross-over voting early in the campaign cycle. (A practice that should be banned.)
  2. I voted for Mitt Romney in the Michigan primaries and think you are right about his being a good choice for the POTUS His father was our Governor (George Romney) and although I was 18 at the time he was a very good business man and a very good Governor
  3. I don't know why Romney didn't do better in the primaries( I think it was mostly his own fault as I never heard him give a clear, fired up speech till his concession...although I like his stand on the issues), I voted for him. But now I'm hoping he'll be McCain's VP choice. you are right TS, he is good looking ..almost too good looking to be the economic genius he is.
  4. I voted for Romney but McCain is still better than Obama.
  5. I voted for him. Republicans tend to nominate the guy that lost last time, it was McCains turn. The Mormon thing scared some people. He has switched some positions. He was just too slick and good looking.
  6. I have no clue. I'm a strong Democrat and other than Hilary, Romney was my favorite out of both parties. And I really wanted him to win, Im from Michigan and as you all know Michigan is in the hole due to the auto industry. But anyways Romney actually cared about Michigan... If Lil' Bush wins I will leave the country becuase there is no way he will try to fix our economy. All he cares about is what Bush cares about. Super rich people and the never ending war.
  7. Tell me why Republicans didn't elect Ron Paul- Before you thumb me down let's deal with the facts- He was the most conservative man running for president you can look at his record for proof of that, He has never once voted to increase taxes. He wanted to stop all the wasteful spending going on in our country restore our liberty, end the war and create peace with the rest of the world. You can call him an isolationist if you want but the fact is he's NOT an isolationist- hes for non-intervention, dont police the world, no nation building instead trade and talk with the rest of the world not start wars that have no end. I don't need anyone to tell me why they didnt vote for Ron Paul I know exactly why you were brainwashed by the media into believing he was unelectable when in truth he was the most honest man I've seen in my lifetime run for president. Today, while his campaign has ended he continues spreading the message of liberty through his new Campaign for Liberty. www.campaignforliberty.com Ron Paul is the kind of man I would be proud to call our president.
  8. Romney is a very impressive man, with excellent demonstrated leadership skills. However, he did not connect with voters and seemed to not understand the issues and concerns of the average voter. For example in one debate he made a statement that most people without health insurance did not have it, because they chose not to buy it. He seemed to completely not realize that insurance companies opt not to sell plans to higher risk people. I also think that women may not have been comfortable that he respected them, because traditional Mormon women do not have any authority (over themselves, their children or their homes). Still, I think that he was the most promising Republican candidate and that America lost in its lack of support for him.
  9. Truly, Mitt was the only one who had the kahunas to specifically state that any illegal here in the US would get deported. Out front this is the way its going to be. I don't blame his stance. Many people are here illegally while others wait for their "legal" visas to come through. Unfortunately, we have a very poor choice.
