Is the Ron Paul campaign moving into position for a big upset after winning big in the latest straw polls?

After finishing 5th in Iowa and 3rd in Illinois, Ron Paul dominated the New Hampshire straw poll, capturing 73% and the Alabama straw poll with over 80%. Ron Paul keeps gaining support and is quickly becoming the cinderella story for the upcoming primaries. These straw polls are run by the state republician parties and are open to residents of the state which is hosting. If they are meaningless as the detractors claim, why did Romney spead a ton of money to win in Iowa?

7. It's cause for cautious optimism, but hardly makes it a sure thing. The people who say straw polls are meaningless pretty much have no clue how elections work. Yeah, they're not worth anything, but they are an indicator of strength. Basically, what it says at this point is that Ron Paul is still in it, but it hasn't really set him up for a "big upset" yet. For that, we're gonna have to work hard in the primaries, especially in those early voting states. Personally, I'm planning to work hard in my own state, and also have a trip to New Hampshire planned for winter to help get the word out there before the election. We've still got a lot of work ahead of us. If the primary was held today, we'd still come in a distant third.

9. Why do people so love to hate on Ron Paul and his chances for winning? Do you really enjoy voting in the same kind of nimrods we have been for decades? Or do you just hate the Constitution?
10. Freedom and liberty are starting to spread! The thing I find funniest is that Dr. Paul gets little to no media coverage and still places well or lately is outright winning these straw polls. Thats because we dont rely on the MEDIA to tell us who to vote for. Those of us who support Dr. Paul like to think for ourselves, which is what Dr. Paul himself supports.

12. Straw polls mean NOTHING... They have NO VALUE at all in an election. if you got enough people willing to shell out the cash to vote for something that has no value, then any one can win. Shoot If I put my name on the ballot and got enough people to put down the $35 bucks needed to place a worthless vote then I could make my self look like a front runner. He will not win a primary, and he sure as hell will not win the election. I wish the Ron Paul Spammers on here would just stop. it is ridiculous and stupid. 13. Ron Paul is moving into position for an upset. He has the momentum and is gaining supporters every day.
14. The media is doing all they can to keep Ron Paul's message from the American people. despite that he is gaining support every day. He wins every pole of people who have heard him speak. No other candidate has the kind of enthusiastic support that Ron Paul has. After he wins his first primary, the media will have to pay attention to him. Then it will be all over for the media anointed front runners.
15. To the naysayers... I look at your objections as an opportunity to share info on constitutional or political thought. The strawpolls could lead to an upset: 1) With a democratic congress we MUST have a republican president, if for no other reason than good balance; 2) Americans are fed up with this war and Dr. Paul was the only Rep running who voted against it; 3) Paul's voting record is roughly... with his party 67% of the time, which means he can get along with both sides of the horribly 2 sided mess we call this system; 4) The constitution is the greatest mediator of all time and eliminates most arguments between the aforementioned 2-party system; and there's no more qualified candidate than Paul on the constitution and the Chicago school of economics. 5) The strawpolls thus far have been geographically significant in that the success is widespread (federally) not merely regional. AN EXCELLENT SIGN. To all the supporters out there... just keep working hard, send in money whenever possible treat naysayers with total respect and cheerfulness- ask them tough and fair questions to help guide them through the education process.
