Is Ron Paul the least hypocritical candidate out there?

First - let me say, I am planning on voting for a Democrat - namely Obama. But... Ron Paul is the only candidate that seems to connect the dots that "war" and "abortion" are synonymous in the context of Christianity... Many politicians before him have tried to sell Christians on the idea that homosexuality and abortion are murder but War is somehow not... Ron Paul wants to allow for "civil unions" (instead of gay marriage but still giving equal rights that are associated with marriage) and he is pro-life.... AND he wants to pull out of Iraq... Whether or not you agree with these policies as the best course of action - at least he's not a hypocrite!

  1. he has a coherent theory as well as years of a voting record to support he actually believe and votes what he says. Hes labeled a nut and 2nd tier despite a fiscally sound campaign, and increasing popularity. If the voting public knew he was the proend Iraq candidate he would win. And hes not interventionalist enough to want to overturn Roe v. Wade. I am sick of politics in social issues.
  2. His voting record stands for itself. Whether you agree with him or not, he's one principled mother fucker.
  3. nope! We all know he want to "cut and run" out of Iraq. That's all he talks about. When he screamed about how he was worried about "winning elections" instead of America's honor, he looked and sounded like a fool. I will NEVER vote for Hillary, Obama, Edwards, Gravel, Kisinich, any other dem, McCain & Rudy because of their stand on illegal immigration. I won't vote for Paul becasue he's a kook and can't win!
  4. I agree, but i am voting for him
  5. I agree with you that he offers the best choices for the future of America. Our government has become completely corrupt. The only way to stop a socialistic takeover with a police state is to vote OUT those who support other countries over the United States of America. Be careful of who you vote for. Obama is very much pro amnesty for illegals, open borders, abortion - which includes the harvest of baby parts for test labs, and is a very smooth talker. He is also against our 2nd Amendment rights which is there to prevent a government takeover - not for a hunting license. Beware of those who speak with a forked tongue.
  6. gonna' vote a socialist into our highest office?...ready for your taxes to skyrocket are ya'? cuz' who do you think is gonna' pay for his programs? but then maybe you don't pay taxes? i do...and no way in hades will i vote for either him or hillery...the government takes far too much of the money i worked hard for as it is... and ron paul? what a joke! nope...fred's da' man this election...
  7. He may very well be...but unfortunately he is also a loon.
  8. Agreeing with you and starring this question Won't vote for him but like a real person running, and reject him because I disagree with him
  9. The more I learn about the man the more I like him. He is what every american ( politician or not ) should be. If anyone really thinks that he is a cut and run coward or a tax crazy socialist just listen to his speech on patriotism. 10. I guess, even though we agree about a lot of things, we can't agree about everything. I would say that Ron Paul is one of ONLY three candidates worth supporting. The other two are: my favorite, Mike Gravel, and my second favorite,, Dennis Kucinich. I believe that voting strictly party lines is harmful to this country and the people. I believe that the second thing everyone should look at, is how each candidate stands on all the most important "Quality of Life for everyone" issues. But, the first and most important thing is where is a given candidate getting his or her campaign financing? I guess most people really don't think about this, because most people I mention it too, kind of indicate in their manner, that they had never thought of it that way before. But, if a candidate gets his or her financing from the people, then they are going to put the interests of the people first. If a candidate gets his or her financing from Big Business, and Lobbyists, and the Military/ Industrial complex, and so for, that is where their first loyalty will ALWAYS lay, regardless of what they have said in their campaigns. Front Runners are always front runners for a reason. Think about that when you pick a candidate to support. Where does Obama get most of his campaign financing? Where does Mike Gravel get most of his campaign financing? Ron Paul? Dennis Kucinich? *sm*
  11. agreed -but he is the most honest and has the most integrity
  12. yes really he doesn't have my vote!!
  13. Ron Paul has not said or done anything that I found hypocritical. Barack has become desperate of late. The last time I heard him speak he was talking to Iowans promising to start solar paneling the state in order to solar panel the entire country. It would be interesting to see if Barack has solar panels himself.
  14. Among all candidates, Dr. Paul is now first in total donations from military personnel and veterans. Obama and McCain were second and third in donations from the military. http://phreadom.blogspot.com/2007/07/ron-paul-is-most-financially-military.html http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/ 1 Paul http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00432914/A_EMPLOYER_C00432914.html 2 Obama http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431445/A_EMPLOYER_C00431445.html 3 McCain http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00430470/A_EMPLOYER_C00430470.html 4 Clinton http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431569/A_EMPLOYER_C00431569.html 5 Richardson http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431577/A_EMPLOYER_C00431577.html 6 Romney http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431171/A_EMPLOYER_C00431171.html 7 Edwards http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431205/A_ELECTION_C00431205.html 8 Giuliani http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00430512/A_EMPLOYER_C00430512.html He received more than 10 times as much in donations in the last week June as he received in the first week of April. http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00432914/A_DATE_C00432914.html Mitt Romney's campaign only had 35 percent more cash than Ron Paul after subtracting debts on 06/30/2007. http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/cancomsrs/?_08+P80000748 http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/cancomsrs/?_08+P80003353 Romney's contributions from individuals dropped by a third from the first quarter to the second quarter. Paul's contributions almost quadrupled from Q1 to Q2. http://projects.washingtonpost.com/2008-presidential-candidates/?nid=roll_08campaign Ron Paul's $2.4 million in fundraising after the second quarter placed him: 4th in total receipts to date 3rd in total current assets (ahead of former front-runner John McCain, and just $800,000 behind Mitt Romney) Thus far, 47% of the contributions made to Ron Paul's campaign are donations of under $200 from individuals (John McCain's 17% is the second-highest percentage). http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/2008/articles/ron-paul-small-donors-love-him.html This is a telling statistic, as it highlights the fact that most other candidates rely heavily upon donations from corporate interests and political action committees (PACs) (i.e. moneyed, influence-seeking sources who can readily afford to contribute large sums). Since Congressman Paul has always voted against special favors and privileges for anyone, special interests know they have nothing to gain by stuffing Ron Paul's campaign coffers. As one member of my local Meetup group put it on a home-made sign, "Ron Paul is thin because he won't let special interests buy him lunch."
