Who think that Ron Paul is the only Republican presidential candidate who gets it?
When I say "it", I mean "everything." At one of the debates, Paul was trying the explain the idiocy behind the "They hate us for our freedom" argument. Anyone who actually believes that is a moron. Paul was NOT defending the terrorists. He was explaining their motives. They hate the US because of our crappy foreign policies in the Middle East, and the US's meddling in their countries. Ron Paul, unlike the other Republican candidates, understands that you can only push people so far before they start pushing back. search_rescue_ranger, that has got to be the most ignorant thing you could have said. RON PAUL IS NOT A HIPPIE! He is a Vietnam War Vet, and maybe the reason he wants peace is because he's seen war firsthand. It looks like that's something you need to. well, ranger, it seems I spke too soon, but it's wrong to accuse anyone who fought in Vietnam and then later opposed it of being a hippie.

- Yeah, brother! Dr. Paul is the man!
- He should get into the right party.
- Ron Paul is the only hope for the repubs. The rest are just W clones or worse ( yeah, the repubs can get MUCH worse than w. )
- yup you speak the truth , but some people are so hypersensitive that they only hear what they want to hear historian Charles Austin Beard once said "nothing will get you a quicker reputation as being a dangerous citizen these days is to go around repeating the same phrases that our founding fathers used in the struggle for Independence." Ron Paul 08 the only wasted vote is for the status quo
- If he got it, he would drop out of the race because he doesn't have snowballs chance of getting the republican nomination.
- He is the ONLY candidate that gets it from both sides. It is unfortunate that its not the men who get it, but only those who accept it and don't try to change it are the ones who are the ones who get elected. Too much money and power is at stack for it to be otherwise.
- Ron Paul is a left over Hippie from the 60's. The only thing he "gets" is a big fat kickback from move on dot org for trying to split the Republican ticket. It wont work...he's no Ross Perot. EDIT RESPONSE TO ASKER: I don't know your history so I wont stoop to a personal attack on you. But you should be careful who you attack without knowing. I happen to be a veteran of Viet Nam, Granada, Panama, Kosovo and the first Gulf War. I retired as a Major from the US Air Force where I was a para rescue jumper. ( "Search and Rescue Ranger..."). Currently my son is a U.S. Army Ranger Medic with a year of service in Afghanistan. So don't tell me I need to "experience War". I take extreme issue with Ron Paul's appeasement mentality. His brainless ramblings are dangerous to our country and especially our troops in uniform. There seems to be a large group of America haters at work in the politics of the left and Paul's sole mission is to try and split the Republican vote so Hillary can win the white house. That is exactly how Bill got in the White House. He never would have beat George Herbert Walker Bush if Ross Perot had stayed out. You sir are wrong on every point you spoke of. . .
- He obviously isn't getting everything because he isn't getting psychiatric treatment which he sorely needs. And so do you.
- I am a Democrat but I'll agree he is in the wrong party, he is the only one that really understands what is going on in the Republican Party Candidates.
- It's odd to me.. The one candidate who seems to be sticking to "conservative" views gets outcasted from the "conservative" party.. hmmm..
- His 6 Internet trolls who constantly spam all of the polls. I hope for the sake of common sanity that you guys are getting paid for this crap.
- ron paul seems to be the only candidate that isnt a total moron. i mean if the others thought about it, he has some good arguments.
- If he "got it" he would give up and drop out! He doesn't have a chance and is a "joke candidate." He made a total fool of himself at the last debate. He is not a Republican, he's a libertarian that changed parties to run for president. He can't keep his cool during a debate. How are we suppose to trust him when things are difficult as president? Sorry but I can't trust him and HE CAN NOT WIN! When a candidate has only 2% of the vote, that does not mean a victory in November 2008. Besides, he won't get the nomination! If, by some miracle he did, Hillary would demolish him in November! He may have been high in some meaningless straw polls but SO WHAT! His supporters keep claiming that he WON the meaningless Iowa straw poll but even his website said he came in 5th. GO FRED!
- Ron Paul said security gaurds at a local mall can defend out country better than out military. Ron Paul is loon. I was on his band wagon for a bit, but he started heading down a bumpy path who's end is only steep a steep cliff
- I wouldn't be telling the neo-cons that Paul is a Vietnam vet. They managed to make heroes like McCain and Kerry out to be cowards and traitors - they wouldn't hesitate to do the same to your guy. I agree that Paul is right about terrorists and the war. But it is clear that America's right wing do not want to hear anything other than "we are great - they suck and attack us - so let's blow all towelheads off the face of the earth". My problem with Paul is the rest of his platform is either mean-spirited, dangerously radical or just plain wrong. He advocates regressive taxation. He advocates an isolationist foreign policy at a time when more and more of the problems we face are global and will require multi-lateral solutions. He blames entities that tried to prevent our folly in Iraq for creating it (the Security Council and it's resolutions).
- I doubt Ron Paul even believes that crap.
- Agreed... there is a prinicpal of blowback witch the masses keep seem to missing.... Ron Paul has a full understanding of how our forigen policy aggravates other countries... He is NOT blaming Americans... just the policies that the government advocates... And this adminstration should be a prime example.. The Iraq war is clearly being faught under false pretenses.... Anyone who doesn't understand this concept has a poor understanding of history and poltics.. No matter what a religon advocates no one has that much pure haterd that they would take their own life... There are reasons behind it.. its not just they hate us because of our freedom.. many other countries have freedom as well.... Think and Do your research before you use bull excuses to try and justify this war.. Ron Paul is absolutely correct
- Ron Paul is the only one who gets it.
- I agree. To sageandscholar, what do you mean by Ron Paul's platform is "mean spirited, radical, or plain wrong"? Regressive taxes? The current taxes are supposed to be temporary when they were created, but the government got a taste of taxes that it doesn't want to let go. America was founded as a revolt to excessive taxation (5% tax was considered excessive), and the current taxes are now almost 50% of our income (all the combined federal, state, and local taxes plus sales tax and other excise taxes such as gasoline tax). If you look at the UN security council's ability to do their job, you will see that they could not stop a country like the USA to invade another country like Iraq. The UN is supposed to stop big countries from bullying weak countries. The UN did not, or could not do that. That is why Ron Paul thinks that the USA being in the UN is redundant and unnecessary.
- First we {all Americans} have to understand that Ron Paul is a Constitutionalist. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. The Constitution states: The Congress shall have the right to declare war! So, lets analyze that: The Taliban, Sadaam Hussian, The people of Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, or Iran, have never officially declared war against the U. S. The U.S.'s Central Intelligence Agency has identified a rogue group of very scattered terrorists calling temselves Al-Qaeda, the only real enemies of the U. S. because, apparently they are admitting responsibility for the 911 bombings. So, the U. S. has declared war on Al-Qaeda!?! Now if Al-Qaeda is scattered all over the world in small groups, how do the Americans fight them??? By declaring a conventional war on a whole country, or many countries, with the risk of costing the lives of many thousands,,,or by using other methods? Well, Ron Paul, a former military man, is the only candidate that has researched the Constitution to find a method suitable to destroy small groups of hostiles! That method is: Congress shall have the power to,,,,grant letters of "Marque" {From Websters: pledge, retaliation} repraisal, and make rules concerning captures....etc. Which simply means to give the authority in writing to groups of counter-terrorists, {C.I.A. types from "ANY" nation...Ah-La The French Foreign Legion} to use any means possible to eradicate the terrorist groups,,,,,under the strict control of the congress! {The American taxpayer would be supporting the counter terrorists.} I ask you readers, wouldn't this method of warfare save hundreds of billions of American taxpayer dollars, & at the same time save the thousands of innocents caught in the crossfire of a civil war in Iraq? I agree with Ron Paul's method,,,,bring the troops home now, to protect our home borders, instead of fighting a conventional no-win very expensive war! In my opinion, the war issues are going to decide the next president of the USA, Americans are very tired of war, as the recent demonstrations in Washington D. C. demonstrated. Thank you for reading. *****************************************************
- Ron Paul is the only Republican who can defeat Hillary Clinton. Ron Paul is not a pacifist. He sees the terroists and their teachers as individuals and not as representatives of any nation or the religion of Islam. At the time of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Paul, defining them as an act of "air piracy", introduced the Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001, which would have granted Letters of Marque and Reprisal, as authorized by Article One, Section Eight, against the specific terrorists, instead of warring against a foreign state.[17] He has also reproposed this legislation recently under the new title of Marque and Reprisal Act of 2007. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul#Letters_of_Marque_and_Reprisal Among all candidates, Dr. Paul is now first in total donations from military personnel and veterans. Obama and McCain were second and third in donations from military and veterans. http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0geu6EwxOhGZI8ANxJXNyoA?p=%22ron+Paul%22+military+donations&fr=ush-360 http://phreadom.blogspot.com/2007/07/ron-paul-is-most-financially-military.html http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/ 1 Paul http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00432914/A_EMPLOYER_C00432914.html 2 Obama http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431445/A_EMPLOYER_C00431445.html 3 McCain http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00430470/A_EMPLOYER_C00430470.html 4 Clinton http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431569/A_EMPLOYER_C00431569.html 5 Richardson http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431577/A_EMPLOYER_C00431577.html 6 Romney http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431171/A_EMPLOYER_C00431171.html 7 Edwards http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00431205/A_ELECTION_C00431205.html 8 Giuliani http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00430512/A_EMPLOYER_C00430512.html Tancredo, Ron Paul, and Hunter have the most conservative voting records on immigration. http://www.betterimmigration.com/candidates/2006/prez08_gop2.html http://www.betterimmigration.com/candidates/2006/prez08_gop1.html Tancredo and Ron Paul have the best voting records for reducing government spending according to the National Taxpayers Union. They were the only candidates to score 100 percent "A" Grades from 1992 to 2005. http://www.ntu.org/main/page.php?PageID=97# Sportsbook.com rates both Paul and Romney at 8 to 1 odds which is approximately an 11 percent chance of becoming the next President. Mitt Romney's campaign only had 35 percent more cash than Ron Paul after subtracting debts on 06/30/2007. ($3,176,525 / $2,354,855 = 1.349) http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/cancomsrs/?_08+P80000748 http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/cancomsrs/?_08+P80003353 Paul's campaign has almost 5 times as much money to spend as Tancredo. http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/cgi-bin/cancomsrs/?_08+P80003429 Romney's contributions from individuals dropped by a third from the first quarter to the second quarter. Paul's contributions almost quadrupled from Q1 to Q2. http://projects.washingtonpost.com/2008-presidential-candidates/?nid=roll_08campaign Ron Paul received more than 10 times as much in donations in the last week of June as he received in the first week of April. http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q2/C00432914/A_DATE_C00432914.html Ron Paul's $2.4 million in fundraising after the second quarter placed him: 4th in total receipts to date 3rd in total current assets (ahead of former front-runner John McCain, and just $800,000 behind Mitt Romney) Ron Paul has more friends in MySpace and more subscribers in YouTube than any other Republican. As of September 4, Ron Paul has won 9 of 23 straw polls. http://www.ronpaul2008.com/straw-poll-results/ Thus far, 47% of the contributions made to Ron Paul's campaign are donations of under $200 from individuals (John McCain's 17% is the second-highest percentage). http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/2008/articles/ron-paul-small-donors-love-him.html This is a telling statistic, as it highlights the fact that most other candidates rely heavily upon donations from corporate interests and political action committees (PACs) (i.e. moneyed, influence-seeking sources who can readily afford to contribute large sums). Since Congressman Paul has always voted against special favors and privileges for anyone, special interests know they have nothing to gain by stuffing Ron Paul's campaign coffers. As one member of my local Meetup group put it on a home-made sign, "Ron Paul is thin because he won't let special interests buy him lunch." http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/sutton1.html You can learn more about him here. http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=RonPaul2008dotcom
- I agree, Ron Paul is the only one that gets it. In fact, I don't mean to be a conspiracy theorist, but take a look at the facts. Our government is slowly but surely, taking our freedoms. How? Well, did you know we are no longer called the United States of America? That's right we are now known as the North American Union (or Community). Our new currency is called the "Amero". Next, the Patriot Act is in full effect, which grants the feds to search our homes without a warrant. Havieus Corpus? Nowhere to be found...How about the REAL ID cards that will go into effect immediately while the RFDI chips are completed. By the way, the chips will be in full effect by May 2008. Mark my words. We need Ron Paul to clean this mess up. In my opinion, he's our only hope..... Vote Ron Paul in your state's primaries. Get the word out! www.ronpaul2008.com
