Does Mitt Romney ever discuss the decline of the US dollar or offer a solution?
I've tried to search through his account on YouTube and attempted to check other sources on the web. I can't find him addressing this issue. Anyone have links related to his stance on this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Dollar_value_chart.gif Wikipedia also notes that the value of the dollar in 2006 purchases $0.41 worth of goods.

- To answer your question; No, Romney does not control the value of the dollar, congress does per Section 8 of US constitution. Clause 5: To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures; http://www.house.gov/house/Constitution/Constitution.html
- havent seen one thing on it
- How funny. If the chart you showed is reliable, the real decline came about during the FDR days and the beginning of his socialist programs. Mitt Romney is a very experienced and successful business man. He actually is more qualified than any of the candidates on either side to address this issue.
- I haven't heard him touch that issue either.
- Propaganda central. In Keynesian economics the value of Fiat currrency is dependent on the perceived stability of the government issuing the currency. Since Democrats have taken control of Congress the stability of the US government is questioned. The animosity between Congress and the President is recognized on an international level. Democrats spread a lot of propaganda about this. The Republicans don't. Essentially it comes down to this: Democrats mis-inform their supporters. Republicans keep their mouths shut rather than mis-inform people. Republicans are not going to tell voters they are responsible for destabilizing the government by electing a Democratic majority to congress. As an independent voter and an anti-democrat I can run my mouth as much as I want, pointing out simple, easy to research facts like this all day long. We can put people into three categories pretty easily. 1: Those who know what I am writing is true. 2: Those who refuse to believe anything but the propaganda spouted by their fascist democratic leaders. 3: Those who will research the material and find out what I am writing is true. PS: By the way, your chart is bogus. Want to figure out how bogus? Go get the mean, modal and median individual and family incomes form the time periods under discussion. Figure out how many pounds of flour, barrels of oil, etc, can be purchased for that income and compare it over the years. The ratio proves oil is 3-4 times as expensive right now as is normal. Wheat flour proves the chart is bogus.
- He had a perfect opportunity last night but failed to address it, as did most of the other GOP candidates. Paul brought up the point that part of the reason for $100 oil is the declining value of the dollar. The others completely ignored what he said and went back to their talking points. I'm a Dem and not a supporter of Paul but he did have a valid point, one worthy of discussion.
