Why in an election year have our candidates not acted to stop additional federal and state tax on fuel prices?
We need relief from the fuel prices and the government is benefiting from the additional tax on these high gas prices. Why is this not being addressed by our candidates in an election year? It would certainly get my vote. I need to get to may job and when I can't get to my job, there is no payroll tax income for the government to fuel their needs.....X millions of other Americans.

- McCain did. So did Hillary. Obama dismissed it as impractical. I guess you missed it.
- The Democrats in my state of Michigan want to add addiotal taxes on the already high price of fuel (gas) Senator Baraak Obama concurs with this too
- good idea In chicago it is bad w/ the taxes bravo idea
- For most states that would be about a 40 cent savings total per gallon. Taxes aren't the problem. Gouging is.
- Candidates do not have the power to eliminate or add taxes. Each has proposed something they will work towards when they take office, but that will take congress to approve.
- Obama and Hillary BOTH said they should raise the taxes on fuel. If they just put the taxes on the companies that produce the energy, the cost will STIL be passed on (usually with a per centage of mark up to maintain profit margin) to the end user. Stupid people will vote FOR that concept because they are too stupid to realize that the POOR will be hurt MOST by such taxes. The Democrats have ALWAYS made decisions that hurt the poor the MOST.
- Because both candidates are already bought and payed for and it doesn't matter who wins. Bush owns oil companies so he profits off of them. Plus if the prices are high it's easier to turn people to the REP which is who they want to win. They just offer a resolution to drill that they know will not pass (that they could have proposed when they had both the house and the presidency but didn't) and all the moronic sheep will go "damn liberal dems for not drilling in America to fix this" Although thier short term memory lets them forget that this is a republican mess to begin with. I am voting Ron Paul. Support the Constitution, screw the politicians.
