Is John McCain the new Bob Dole for 2008?

Public Comments

  1. yeah, his next big campaign will be for Viagra!
  2. Obama is the new Mike Dukakis.
  3. no, he's George Bush part 2
  4. He may be, then Obama will be Kerry in 2004
  5. Yea, he might lose to a "change" and "hope" candidate - which was the same platform which Bill Clinton ran on during 1992 and 1996. However, Clinton did deliver "change" and "hope" to our great nation, whereas Obama, we don't know yet.
  6. Not exactly. Dole ran against Bill Clinton when he was the incumbant. Clinton was extremely popular and wasn't going to get beaten by anyone for his second term---almost everyone wanted him for 4 more years. Also, I don't think John McCain refers to himself in the thid person!!
  7. He is the poster child for Depends.
  8. Hmmm no....McCain is McCain and will wipe the floor with that little snot nosed kid from Chicago that can't function without a teleprompter....
  9. Yes, except McCain will win.
  10. except for the fact that the media will relentlessly and mercilessly attack him from the beginning of the general campaign until election day
  11. Could be -- if he insists on running a "gentlemanly" campaign and is unwilling to do what it takes to win.
  12. Pretty much, he's out of touch with modern America just like Dole was.
  13. far from it, the republicans knew there was no way they could defeat bill clinton and nominated dole so they would at least have a candidate. bob dole had absolutely no chance of winning and everybody knew it. mccian is someone to be reckoned with, a formidable opponent.
  14. No. I liked Bob Dole and voted for him. I am not voting for McCain. I think Dole is a lot more respected overall. Like another poster said - Clinton was the incumbent and popular. It is hard to beat anyone in that position.
  15. If only he had the strenghts Dole had. No, McCain is a real loose cannon.
  16. Dole was more alert and spry. McCain walks as if his pants weigh 400 pounds.
  17. yes.
  18. 25% of Republicans did not vote for McCain in the NC and Indiana primaries according to exit polls. He may be more like the Democrat's Dukakis than Dole.
  19. John McCain is cross between Herbert Hoover and Elmer Fudd.
  20. Seems like the sacrificial lamb for the Republicans.
