In the 2008 Presidential election, who will be on the ballot in addition to John Mccain and Barack Obama?
I just got a telephone call from an automated survey about the election and it aggrivates me because its like who are you voting for Barack Obama or John Mccain like I am forced to vote for them. Who else do I have a choice to vote for in the 2008 presidential election?

- The Constitutionalists Chuck Baldwin, and the Libertarian Bob Barr is also running for pres.
- Ralph Nader comes to mind, but don't waste your vote.
- Well, those two are the main choices, however you do have one last option. You can go independent and put in the name of a third party candidate such as Ron Paul or Bob Barr. But really that's a wasted vote because writing in a name on a ballot will do nothing. All it is good for is to make the candidate feel better about not choosing someone they didn't care for. My advice to you, is to carefully decide. Because if you don't vote at all, then you will be doing more damage than good. Not voting could mean more of the same treatment... Do research on both candidates and see who lines up with your views..
- There is a good chance that Ralph Nader will make the ballot. He is a viable candidate and received a good bit of support last election. This election, I think, might be his time to carry the election.
- Yourself. Write your name in.
- For the first time since 1928, both major parties have open contests for the Presidential nomination without a sitting President or Vice President in the running. Politics1 presents a "first look" at those people being mentioned as possible, likely, speculative, or draft candidates for President in 2008. (Note: I get a bunch of email telling me this is really only the first truly open contest since 1952 ... but then-VP Alben Barkley did in fact seek the Democratic Presidential nomination. He ended his serious run after labor refused to back him because they thought he was too old, but Barkley continued on as a regional "favorite son" candidate. Thus, Barkley did run in 1952 -- even if he found no success.) - A Libertarian/Independent candidate.
- That is the media leading you to believe you have only 2 choices! This country is a republic that chooses it's leaders in a democracy type election. You have a choice to choose from either main stream highly publisized parties, or sometimes a 3rd party, which most media never give a snowballs chance, therefore brainwashing the public into believing they should vote for the devil himself than to vote outside the two mainstream parties. Or, you can write in someone you think would do the job of the president to the best of his or her ability. You can vote for yourself for that matter, or do as I plan to do. . . . write in RON PAUL - along with thousands (maybe millions of others) and send a message to America that he is the only one with answers to the issues that matter to the US. <<< (she says stern as she steps down from her soap box)
- Barack Obama- Bill Richardson John McCain- Tim Pawlenty
