What candidate would you like to see get the nomination, but lose the General election?

Assuming Hillary gets the Democratic nomination, it would then be so sweet to see her lose the General election. That would actually be better than her not getting the nomination in the first place.

  1. vote obama!!!!!!! he needs to win in order to get us out of this shit hole
  2. wow I take the 5th on this one sorry
  3. no, that just means obama aint president, if he isnt elected then it'll all keep going to hell
  4. Agreed.
  5. Any or all of them....frankly I don't like any candidate...I think I'm going to write in Kinky. The Hillary situation you mentioned will be true if she does get the nomination. I guarantee she won't win the general election. I know I would vote for Satan before I voted for Hillary and I know a lot of people feel the same way I do. If people thought Bush was a divisive figure they haven't seen anything if Hillary is president.
  6. Even though i'm sure it won't happen....I would love to see RON Paul somehow just get the repub nomination...just to see the sallow, pompous, smug, shocked faces of all the other repubs drop to the floor! Otherwise....I will settle for any republican getting the nomination only to see Hillary do a victory dance at any of their expense.
  7. Alan Keyes
  8. Like to see the Republicans nominate anybody, then they will loose to any Democrat in the general election, including Hillery and you will be whining for the next 9 years, can't wait for that.
  9. I support Hillary because she is the only candidate who has successful experience creating a good national economy. With her husband, Bill, they created the best economy that we have had in the history of this nation during the term of Bill's Presidency. The weakest Republican candidate would be Ron Paul, becaue he comes off as being crazy and mentally unstable, so Ron Paul would be the Republican that I would prefer to run against Hillary because she would trounce him in a landslide. However the Republicans have blown it so badly that Hillary would trounce any one of them in a landslide.
  10. Ron Paul's Reform Plan Introduction America became the greatest, most prosperous nation in human history through low taxes, constitutionally limited government, personal freedom and a belief in sound money. We need to return to these principles so our economy can thrive again. When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity. Other candidates talk a lot about stimulus packages, but my record stands alone. I have fought for these measures for years as a member of Congress and will make them a top priority as president. Ron Paul, a 10-term Republican Congressman from Texas's 14th District, is currently the ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology. He has been named "Taxpayers' Best Friend" for 10 consecutive years by the National Taxpayers' Union. Ron Paul is also the author of several books on monetary policy and economics. The Four-Point Plan 1. Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes. 2. Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels. 3. Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness at the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money. 4. Regulatory Reform: Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth. 1. Tax Reform * Eliminate Taxes on Dividends and Savings. The basis of capitalism is savings, and Americans who do so should be rewarded. o Pass HJ Res. 23 to encourage savings over consumption. * Repeal the Death Tax. Attacking small businesses and breaking up family farms smothers growth and kills jobs. o Pass H.R. 2734 to make the Bush tax cuts permanent. * Cut Taxes for Working Seniors. Grandmothers and grandfathers working to make ends meet should keep all the fruits of their labor. o Pass H.R. 191 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the inclusion in gross income of Social Security benefits. * Eliminate Taxes on Social Security Benefits. That money belongs to seniors, not the government. They paid into the system for a lifetime, and they should be free to spend every penny as they see fit. o Pass H.R. 192 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the 1993 increase in taxes on Social Security benefits. * Accelerate Depreciation on Investment. We need to help companies grow and create jobs. o Pass H.R. 4995 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to reduce corporate marginal income tax rates. * Eliminate Taxes on Capital Gains. Investment should be embraced and rewarded. o Pass H.J. Res 23 (The “Liberty Amendment”), proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relative to abolishing personal income, estate, and gift taxes and prohibiting the United States Government from engaging in business in competition with its citizens. * Eliminate Taxes on Tips. The single parents and working students who earn their income chiefly through tips deserve to keep all of their money. This tax on "estimated income" is unfair and should be ended. o Pass H.R. 3664 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide that tips shall not be subject to income or employment taxes. * Support the Mortgage Cancellation Relief Act. Working families who lost their homes should not be punished a second time with a big IRS bill. o Pass H.R. 1876 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exclude from the gross income of individual taxpayers discharges of indebtedness attributable to certain forgiven residential mortgage obligations. 2. Spending Reform * Reduce Overseas Military Commitments. Our bases and troops should be on our soil. o It's time to stop subsidizing our trading partners in Europe, Japan and South Korea. * Freeze Non-Defense, Non-Entitlement Spending at Current Levels o I vote against all bloated, pork laden spending bills and will veto them as president. 3. Monetary Policy Reform * Televise Federal Open Market Committee Meetings. An institution as powerful as the Federal Reserve deserves full public scrutiny. * Expand Transparency and Accountability at the Federal Reserve o Pass H.R. 2754 to require the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to continue to make available to the public on a weekly basis information on the measure of the M3 monetary aggregate and its components. * Return Value to Our Money. Legalize gold and silver as a competing currency. o Level the long-term boom and bust business cycle by passing H.R. 4683, which would repeal provisions of the federal criminal code relating to issuing coins of gold, silver, or other metal for use as current money and making or possessing likenesses of such coins. 4. Regulatory Reform * Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley. It has seriously wounded our capital markets and helped make the UK a financial center at our expense. o Ending these misguided regulations would bring jobs flooding back to the United States o Pass H.R. 1049 to reform Sarbanes-Oxley and reduce the burden it places on small businesses. * Repeal or Remove Costly and Unnecessary Federal Regulations. Neighbors know best how to help their neighbors. o We need to make it easier for community banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions to better serve their communities and to help people in these communities get access to credit and capital. o Pass H.R. 1869 to enhance the ability of community banks to foster economic growth and serve their communities, boost small businesses, increase individual savings, and for other purposes.
  11. Romney, then Senator Clinton would win and the nation would benefit by having someone who's experienced and qualified to handle the difficult problems that this country is currently facing: The wars in Iran and Afghan The economy & jobs creation The recession Healthcare Foreclosure problems etc
  12. I kind of feel that way about Romney. I bet he'll win the primary but I do not want that guy as my President. He is way too hawkish on foreign policy - and at least McCain knows what he's talking about - Romney is just as aggressive with 1/1000th the foreign policy/military experience as McCain. McCain is too hawkish for me too, but he has a much lower chance of bungling up a war than Romney does. Also, I believe Romney's in favor of things like the Patriot Act, reactionary pro-torture judges, and high-tech National ID cards. Kiss your privacy rights and your civil rights goodbye! I do think Romney has good business sense but I'll vote for a Democrat if he gets the nomination, 100% certain. Hillary and Obama don't actually differ that much on policy, and I neither love nor despise Hillary - she seems competent enough, but she's too protectionist and too pro-illegal immigrant for my taste. Most politicians are slithery.
  13. I think that is should be Rudy gulliani..he is just doing the run because he listened to the wrong people urge him on.And you need to go to the store to get your "sweets" on because Hillary is going to win it all!!!!
  14. Mike, what were you smoking when the Clinton's were in control? They didn't create a thing except a larger government, smaller military (which we are now suffering the consequences of) and the poorest example of moral leadership in history! As far as the economy, all they did was sit back and ride the economic wave the Reagan Revolution CREATED. Unfortunately there are enough people that want Hillary to be elected and the"TAX AND SPEND" mentality will drive this country into the ground and you will all still blame Bush for it all as usual. Frankly, WHY does all of this have to be such a "my team, your team" mentality rather than what is good for the country as a whole? JUST THINK and Remember, JFK said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country". All Hillary wants to do is raise taxes and spend money we DON'T HAVE to spread it around to those SHE thinks need it. Europe and Canada do this and are realizing it (socialism/communism) doesn't work. If you really THINK you LIKE the government taking half of your paycheck (all your wages from Jan. to May go to taxes) and spending it for you then vote for Hillary, because she and her friends will do JUST that and MORE! On the other hand, if you don't want to THINK, JUST VOTE DEMOCRATIC!
  15. Ron Paul.
  16. I would have to say Hillary. I don't like anyhting about her, and would love to see her eliminated in the primaries, but I think she may actually get the nomination. I really don't care how she loses, just that she loses.
  17. Clinton
  18. romney will get the nomination but lose it in election hillary will win the election - she is the chosen one
  19. I agree.
