How many points down does the Republican nominee generally start out in an election?

In nearly every election over the last 50 years Republicans start out about 20 points below the Democratic nominee once that person has been established. That number gets less and less as the election approaches and the Republican wins. Why does this happen? The liberal media supports the Democrat and they get tons of free press and they back them. Keep your eyes on the numbers. McCain and the Republican party is at work as I type this. Vote for wisdom and experience. Vote for someone that loves America and always has. Vote McCain.

1. I heard this also and I was pretty surprised. Wonder why the Dem's always start out strong, maybe the media has something to do with it, since the majority of journalists are Dems. But in the end, it always backfires on them, doesn't it?
2. They start out Strong because the start promising things that are impossible...eg fixing the gas prices and leaving Iraq in the 06 elections. Then they soon start to back track as Obama did. Once saying he would immediately pull out of Iraq and then later saying if situations permitted then pull out.

5. I'm an ex-marine, my father, brother and two sons also served, one of which is in Afganastan right now. Loving America is not following bad advise nor is it listening to rumors or lies. Voting in this election or any other is a very seriuos thing. Peoples lives are on the line. People are fighting and dying for a war we should not be in. 6. I don't actually think this is true. I think the media presents it this way because most journalists hold a very liberal bias. (Polls are full of crap, depending on who you poll you can get whatever results you are looking for.) They misrepresent the silent majority in the red states. After people start voting, they can't lie any longer.

9. Who doesn't love America? The problem with McCain is that he has a 10 cent head. He is for the Iraq war and is sounding like he wants to take on Iran too. Does he not realize that is beyond our military numbers? He not only has admitted to knowing nothing about the economy, he has the architect of the predatory lending catastrophe (The author of the bills that allowed it to happen and the guy who pushed the bills through) , the equally as "experienced" Phil Gramm, as his campaign co-chair and CHIEF economic adviser. The economy took down Carter in 80 and Bush in 92 and will take down the GOP in 08.
