Will there be a snowball effect from the massive $ 4 million the Ron Paul campaign raised today?

How will the media respond to this grassroots phenomenon? In the latest poll, Ron Paul jumped from 2% to 5%, so will this cash influx further boost his poll numbers? The amount raised is verified by CNN. I shatters the previous record held by Mitt Romney. Wow, even Yahoo has been forced to admit Ron Paul has raised a record breaking amount. I must admit I am surprised.

  1. a snowball in hell ... he isn't going anywhere.
  2. Really? Ron Paul raised 4 mil in one day; Today?!? Source; Please-? - Added a few hours later - My mistake. I did a search. (I forgot this was you Paul people's big Guy Fawkes Day drive) Gotta hand it to you; That is a truly impressive figure. I admit to you as a Democrat - I still can't imagine the party that nominated and elected George W. Bush twice ever nominating Ron Paul; But if somehow they do, I fear him more than the other Republican candidates for this reason: He is the only one of them who can really drive home both a 'Get Out Of Iraq AND Close Down The Borders' message; Because he's been consistent on both issues since their emergence on the scene. These 2 issues are clearly the foremost on voter's minds headed into 08; And he is the only Republican on the right side of both. I guess you people's next task will just have to be a strong showing in Iowa to prove all of us doubters wrong...
  3. Absolutely! In one day, he jumped 3%. So in just over a month, he'll be polling 100%! And in another month, he'll be at 200%, so everyone will have to vote for him twice! And by then he'll have another quarter billion dollars! Woot! Um, no. He has gone from a ice marble to a smallish ice cube, but not exactly a mighty snowball.
  4. I certainly hope so! Go Ron Paul!
  5. The media seems quite responsive but it also points out that telephone polls among Republican voters alone don't show much of a jump. Ron Paul is too freaky for most people. He wants to overturn Roe vs. Wade, so that will directly go against the wishes of the majority of the American people who in fact wish it to stand; also pulling out of NATO seems like an extremely bad idea. I'd never vote for him. I find him a rather dangerous extremist in the guise of your favorite uncle.
  6. I received an email today in which a California teacher described what it is like to teach in a Title I school. She described in detail how much of our tax dollars are wasted. I sent it to everyone I know and even posted it in one of my answers today. You can look at it in the question about whether Ron Paul is just a crazy old man, or the best candidate. I think if enough people are made aware of what a disaster we have on our hands now, Dr. Paul will be gaining a tremendous amount of popular support. Sometimes, I have complained about the elections going on for so long, but it takes time for the Internet to do an effective job of getting the word out, so it is a gift that we have this time. Yes, I think that in a month or so, we will have a snowman, in three months we will have an igloo, and by the time the primaries are over, we will have a glacier. The American people are ready, we understand that doing things the same way over and over and expecting different results is crazy.
  7. Honestly... the Media isn't fair, and they won't play at this as much as they would if another candidate accomplished this. But that doesn't matter... It happened, and WE SHOULD LET EVERYONE KNOW!!! I LOVE RON PAUL, and I'm so proud of everyone for donating to him today, and that alone shows how much we can do when we put our heads to it.
  8. No. Kerry raised more than the Bush for the 2004 campaign, and Bush still won. Fools and their money are quickly separated. (Proverbs). "There is a sucker born every minute." (P.T. Barnum) He is only at 3%, according to Newsweek's latest.
  9. No offense intended, but they will probably respond in much the same way when Howard Dean did so well in raising money... Paul would need 40-50 million to really start making a dent in the polls. Cheers.
  10. You guys don't seem to understand that Ron Paul raised 600k in the first quarter, 2.4 million in the second quarter, 5 million in the third quarter, and in 1/3rd of the fourth quarter hes already raised 6.5. Hes gaining by 2x-4x every single quarter, pretty soon the message will spread like the US's nation building and fairly soon he will be a top tier candidate.
