What do you think will happen if Barack Obama became president?
Do you think that there will be a massive riot and a big funeral? [I think I would bawl for days. It would be similar to Emmett Till For us] What do you think? Yeah Phillip C, but what about the minority that doesn't want him? It only takes one person. Its hard to forget I'm black when I get constant reminders EVERY DAY. Don't ever tell me to get over my skin color. I was asking a question, and I wanted to know your answer. And get out of your box and realize that people actually DO care, and some still DO live in the past. I really don't appreciate that answer. DANIEL R. I am not making it about skin color, but I know that other people will. I would rather nothing happen! But its always there for people. They are still racist people out there, and I am not trying to start an argument, but you can't deny the fact that there are people out there who DO think that way. And quite frankly...I am a Hilary Supporter. I was just wondering. DANIEL R. I am not making it about skin color, but I know that other people will. I would rather nothing happen! - Compare it to if Eminem were president.
- He would try to do right by America, but I don't think he would live long in his seat. Too many still think in the past.
- If Barack Obama became president I know things would change poitively for blacks, indians, latinos, mexican, aaaaannnd.....whites
- Nothing, if he became president its because the country wants him
- I think everything will be the same. He's offered nothing different than what we currently have. As far as riots and a funeral, get over your skin color. People have better things to worry about. ADDED: You were asking a question, I was answering a question. Your question started with "What do you think...." and I answered with what I think. The whole Emmett Till angle was pointless. Do we need to discuss the number of blacks murdered by whites versus the number of whites murdered by blacks? The information is readily available online. You will see the people with problems are people like YOU - living in the past, can't see past a person's skin color, etc. Why can't you view Barrack or any other candidate as a highly intelligent person with the capabilities of running the entire free world? Why does it have to be about skin color?
- too many unanswered questions surround him. He may not be Muslim but Islam says he is regardless of what he says. Yet he has never come out and said " I am Not a Muslim and I renounce it as My religion." He also never came out and gave a clear agenda, just political statement like " We can do better" What does that really mean?
- i think that the U.S would gain a lot more respect internationally if Obama were to become president. He brings intelligence, determination and conviction to Americans and thats why my vote is for him.
- Many of my black friends tell me they believe Obama will never live to take the oath of office.
- Sorry to say but many AMERICANS don't have a clue to who Emmtt til was,,, I agree. if OBAMA is elected, I fear for the worst, but the world will see what America really stands for ! OBAMA 2008 AND BEYOND !!!!
- sharia law will be enacted.
- It's so funny to hear people say how great he is because he is half black, period. That's the only qualification they are interested in and they seem to believe that this will somehow make him different from any other politician. The next president will be beholden to the same special interest groups as his predecessors have been for the past 60 years. Big business will still tell the president how to run the economy and what to say about illegal aliens, and the jewish lobby will still decide our foreign policy. Anyone who thinks that the color of the president's skin or which restroom they use makes one whit of difference is either ignorant or in deep, deep denial.
- I think we'd regain our stature in the international community again... but I don't think there would be a big riot, seeing as how if he is elected, it's because people voted for him. Why would people riot against their own choice?
- Nothing much. No I don't think there would be a massive riot or much to do about it. But if Condi were elected we would see constant racists remarks from the left.
- I don't think anything outlandish as you speak would take place. The JFK and other Presidential assassinations was not done out of skin color, the white killers went for white targets. It was for the most done by some psychotic maniac and the Secret Service...lol! I believe we are in the right time and day for an African-American President, but surely it won't be Barak Obama, he's nothing more then media hype elevated based on ethnicity. In the future there will be a more promising black candidates that has the support of nearly all African-Americans. Unfortunately, he lacks enough support from the black or white votes. It kind of threw me back to see so much blacks against Obama, we can credit that to their ability to discern what a good candidate is all about. And is deeper then skin colour.
- I think blacks worry about this, esp for this guy, all the time. We feel that there are elements out there in this country who just could not stand a black man as a president. This is NOT a generalization about or condemnation of ALL white people. He was elected to the Senate in Illinois by a large number of white people and I suspect he will get A LOTof white support if he got the nomination. Having said all that I (we) would hope and pray for his safety and I think he would be practical and reasonable in his thought process and presidency.
- The same scandals as any white politician and he would do everything for his own agenda.
