What would happen if John McCain recieved the endorsement of a reputable conservative?

Whare the the positive/negative aspects of John McCain being endorsed by a reputable conservative such as Geroge Bush Sr. ?

1. I just really dont think that will happen. Primarily because I can't think of any reputable conservatives.
