Anybody worried that John McCain is going to be 72 years old this August?

I must say that I am a bit worried that John McCain will be 72 this August since he seems to be the likely GOP candidate. He's somewhat sharp now but what's he going to be like when he's 76 toward the end of his first term? Yeah, I know that there are examples of people aging well into their 90's but he's STARTING his presidential term right around the age for life expectancy of the men in the US. We should be looking more closely than normal at the qualifications of his running mate.

  1. No, in the US, when you have insurance, you can live pretty well for a long period of time.
  2. no problems, the white house is handicap accessible.
  3. Lets just say at 72, hes not going to be learning anything about economics, or the us constitution. At that age, you better be mentally defined.
  4. I'm not worried. He's still young enough. He has that hot wife to keep him young.
  5. Yes you should be more worried over whom the Bilderbergs chose as his runningmate...
  6. That's only three years older than Reagan was when he took office.
  7. i'd rather have a 72 year old john mccain as president than a 60 year old hillary clinton any day.
  8. nope - I'm more worried about Hillary being in charge of our wallets!
  9. I'm worried that he wants to keep our troops in Iraq for 100 years.
  10. No I am more worried that he wants to stay in Iraq forever.
  11. I am guessing that if McCain is elected he may be a one term president because of his age.
  12. lol Good Point~
  13. No. I'm worred about his policy's and his liberal stances.
  14. No I am more worried that he has no policies, wants to remain in Iraq for the next one hundred years and is an idiot.
  15. NOPE...NO WORRIES!!!!!!
  16. yea def...if he is elected i'll b looking more at his vp than him...he'll croak in less than a year prob.....
  17. Not something we should worry about at all. I'm 38 and may not (God forbid), live to see tomorrow... McCain is 71 and may live to see 100.... We simply CAN'T worry about things that aren't within our control. If he's healthy in mind and body, we're good to go.... He is both and is definitely a brilliant man with the integrity we need to run this country.
  18. Guess you never heard of Ron Reagan. What do you know about a 72 year old? Nothing I suspect.
  19. I am not concerned by McCains age, I am more concerned if he gets elected.
  20. I agree with you completely .His VP choice will be critical and even if elected I think that he's a one -term president. What's presidential equivalent of the dog to human years relationship ? 3:1 ? 4 :1 ?
  21. If genetics play any role, John McCain will be as sharp and healthy and humorous as his mom is at age 88. I am not voting for him, but I am certainly not worried about his survival. <<While the man she still calls Johnny was taking his campaign bus through South Carolina, his mother was on another one of her three-month jaunts around the world, which she often takes with her twin sister Rowena. Her latest trip took her to India, the Netherlands, Singapore, New Zealand, Tasmania and Australia, among other places. And she doesn't take the touring coach. <<As might be expected of the mother of a fighter pilot, she straps herself into a fire-engine-red BMW. She logged 7,200 miles on her latest road trip, which is why she has run through three other cars over the years. At the end of each adventure, she leaves her roadster somewhere in Europe so it will be ready for the next time. "I'm like a little turtle," she says from her Washington home. "I just bring a little pair of boots, a raincoat, an umbrella and my binoculars and set out.">> ~Time Magazine
  22. His mother is 95 and still travels around the world. He comes from good genes.
  23. Not at all. With age comes experience, which is just what we need. To say it would or could matter would be discrimination, wouldn't it.
  24. More importantly, is anyone worried that he will potentially be 80 years old in the last possible year of his presidency? I'm actually most concerned about his contempt for Constitutional principles. Edit: for those talking about genetics - where's his father? He is only 1/2 his mother's DNA. My dad was strong and healthy at 72 years old. Over the next three years, he had three strokes and died of cancer at 75. He died one year before the statistical expected death of an American male.
  25. Yup! That's pretty old. Name me another job you can get at 72. It's a demanding job, too. Sometimes you have to skip lunch. But I guess Republicans get a lot of days off. Bush has taken 250 days off as of August 2003. That's 27% of his presidency spent on vacation from 2001 to 2003. Clinton took 152 days in his 8 years compared to 250 in under 2 1/2 by W. Bush isn't the first president to get away from his work. George Bush Sr. took 543 vacation days. Must be a Republican thing...
