Are people using the Barack Obama is Muslim excuse instead of just saying we dont want a Black President?

The point of the question is to expose others on Yahoo Answers who are afraid of voicing their racial hatred of Barack Obama who keep using the Muslim excuse. Everyday I've seen a muslim question with Obama. It's sickening. Besides that, why would Americans be so prejudiced against someone who follows a different religion?

  1. He IS half white ya know. So maybe he represents BOTH of us well. Maybe thats the ticket. Always half white and half black.
  2. Yes. It's code. Plus, we've been brainwashed for the last 7 years to believe Muslims are bad and they are all waiting in the shadows to kill us. BOO!!! I love Obama.
  3. Damn you figured it out.
  4. I dont think so. I personaly have nothing against a black president or a women president. I just have every thing agianst Obama being president and Hilary being president.
  5. I don't like Obama and it has nothing to do with him being black or a Muslim, I don't think he has the experience or the maturity to be President. What he needs to do is get a few more years experience under his belt (as a senator) and then run for President, or drop out and run as Clinton's V.P.. Either way if those two don't get their crap together and start thinking about what is best for the voters they are going to split the ticket down the middle and we are going to have another republican President
  6. He is not Muslim and not black . He is a biracial Christian.
  7. That sounds pretty accurate.
  8. My theory is that Hillary & the Clinton machine are pumping out the crazy "Obama is Muslim" rumors because she can't attack him on principles since they are just about the same. I would not vote for either Hillary or Obama because they are so liberal. I am voting for the only moderate in the race. McCain!
  9. it's not about his color.
  10. I don't think so, no. The whites were pretty well splitting their Dem votes. Is he a constitutionalist? If so his religion is his affair. I don't need to know until november though.
  11. No. I think they don't want a Muslim. Seen the world lately. Do you want a Muslim President?
  12. Okay, this is the deal. Here in the south where i live, it isn't that he has an African American heritage. It is that they, as very moral christains, have a hard time comming to terms with the idea that he was born to a mother/and or father that didn't have faith rooted in christianity. That is all. They don't call this the Bible Belt for nothing. It doesn't matter what you say to them, the bible tells them what to think. I have actually heard some of them say that they can not vote for him, because the bible says the antichrist will be born to a faithless mother and father. I have heard this from them. This very clear, if you live in the southern united states. When i went to the polls during our primary in Alabama, I showed up right when it opened, and they actually prayed before the voting poll opened. Thats how religous people are down here. It isn't a racial thing, its a religous thing.
  13. Because like all racists the're cowards !!
  14. I hope not. I think he is the best candidate to turn around the mess left to us by having 8 years of Busch "leadership" (definitely using that term loosely!).
  15. yes it is red-neck code for the n word. these type of people will stop at nothing to belittle another human being. their history is full of hateful language and murdering the innocent in the name of God. their behavior is shameful, ignorant and most people know it when they see it.
  16. Man, THAT IS SO GETTING OLD. As far as that goes, he is just as much white as he is black. SO many blacks have to pull the race card whenever there is anything they dont agree with. ~This coming from someone who doesnt have a racist bone in her body..but..enough is enough guys.
  17. first he is not muslim, as far as race, he recieved 50+ % of the white vote in georgias vote. It isnt a anti black thing, he just isnt qualified in my book. Of course of the other candidates that are running, his lack of experience may be easier to tolerate than their lack of ethics.
  18. There's something interesting I've noticed in the voting patterns this primary. 80% of whites are voting for Hillary. Why is this? I thought Democrats weren't racist. Why such a pronounced split in voting patterns based on race in the Democratic party?
  19. It has nothing to do with color. It has everything to do with what this country stands for. It is because of people like all of you trying to put labels on everything that has gotten this country all screwed up. We can have one nation under god in are pledge,we can not have in god we trust on our money, we have to push one for english. Politicians are afraid of your labels. When are people going to understand this is a christian country and it should stay that way. Who ever wins the election should do their oath on the bible.
  20. When it comes to real-life situations being half-white doesn't mean a hill of beans. We didn't start calling bi-racial people black. It just how it has always been. Besides we call most bi-racial people black not because they are running for president or won a oscar. We are just calling things as we see it. Richard Reed is half-black, but we consider him a brother not because we admire him. His father is black. Richard Reed's father was from Jamaica. He looks black. It is not playing the race card. This is how things have been done for centuries. This bi-racial thing is something new. There have always been mixed-raced people, but they have always been black in American culture. Don't act like it is some kind of conspiracy.
  21. Don't know about those you supposedly are attempting to expose, but I would not hesitate to vote for a qualified black who held similar values that I hold. As far as Obama is concerned, he appears to be all rhetoric (MLK style and cadence) and absolutely no substance!!
  22. YES! People are using the Muslim excuse. I personally like Obama, but people still hold racist feelings. Althought society is more open minded and diverse now than before, there are still that segment of society that still holds negative feelings towards minorities. I don't think those in the "Red Republican" states or those in the "Good old boys" network will ever accept him because he's black. I honestly think that no matter what he says, what he does, and how good he is....Ignorant people will never change their ways. The Muslim excuse is just another way of saying that they don't want a "Black Person or other minority" running the country. Although not all people are racist, there are those in this world that would not be comfortable having a "Black Person" be the face of the United States. Sad but true!
