Why is John Mccain teaming up with President Bush?
Doesn't he know thats only going to hurt chances not help them any. Mccain isn't the best republican candidate anyways its Ron Paul so why is Mccain portrayed as the only choice when there is a better one? I'm frustrated. Ok neither one of those answers has anything to do with my question that is upsetting.

- McCain wants to win. To do that, he needs Republican backing. In his entire career he has never tried so hard to align himself with the party to get their vote. Don't be surprised if once elected he abandons their more extremist ideals and does things his way, as he has always done.
- McCain's a b'tch
- To appear less "independent" and more GOP
- Because they are both complete morons and are out to destory us
- Perhaps John McCain thinks, as many of us do, that President Bush is pretty good and deserves our support. By the way, Ron Paul is not a Republican. He never has been but a has been he is.
- mccain and bush have the same mentality or better put LACK OF MENTALITY of when it comes to knowing what is good for America
- McCain is trying to unite the party. If McCain is chosen as the Republican candidate, then there is a chance that Ron Paul may run on the Independant ticket. Ron Paul would then take away votes McCain might have, just like Ralph Nader may take away votes Hillary/Obama may have.
- Well, John McCain is pretty much just like Bush. Everyone hates Bush, but think McCain will be much better. Ron Paul is a much better candidate, I agree, but he was never covered by the media. He is considered a nutcase or something. He has more experience than most of the candidates, and actually ran in an election before. Also, everyone is saying John McCain is the last Republican choice because Romney dropped out. Sine the beggining of the race it was really between Mitt Romney and John McCain. Mitt Romney dropped out now, and endorsed John McCain, so now John McCain in considered the nominee. Also, John McCain has the best chance against the Democrats in November, so people want him. I personally like Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee.
- They are politically similar, and while the president isn't as popular as he would like he does get the advantage of Bush's political allies and supporters.
- They are the losing team.
- Republicans are trying to bridge the gap between normal people and the uber conservatives, so they will have a chance at winning the election. To comment on the 'Plane to the Saudi's' answer.. I thnk Bush was involved with this incedent too. The Bush family had close ties to the royal family. US contracting and engineering firms had just spent a decade or two updating Saudi cities for the 20th century. There were treaties and contracts, etc. Read into it what you will.
- You're going to remain frustrated if you think Ron Paul is ever going to get out of Texas. Good man but not presidential material, and never will be. He serves well right where he is. John McCain isn't "teaming up" with President Bush. He's running his own campaign and, if elected, will run his own Presidency, but he will also welcome friendship and cooperation with both sides of the aisle, and of course with George W. Bush, who has a high respect for McCain even though they may not always agree. Do your friends and family always agree with you? Don't you still like them and cooperate with them?
- fyi. not everyone hates bush. the media is run by liberals, so it seems this way. bush is the best thing that could have happened to the country and im glad mccain has the same mentality as him.
- McCain is being portrayed as being somehow responsible for the war, recession, and everything else by the Dem's. The NY times is questioning his presidential qualifications. This is neg. campaigning at it's finest=D Jimmy Bama work's in Washington just like McCain, and he's a Senator, but since he rarely votes Yada-Yada.
