- I'd say politically speaking,it's nominally secular, but the culture U can say is still very much a Hindu nation, not unlike the Israel is secular officially speaking, but still has a strong Jewish culture within its society.
- The constitution of India guarentees freedom of practising one's own religion. It is not the policy to differntiate by religion . The incidents that occurred in the state of Gujarat are only aberations. The apex Court has ordered for retrial . Justice will be done finally.
- Hey who says minorities are oppressed in India. It is the media which makes the minorities feel oppressed. Now in a country of one billion, not everyone can get justice. Even the Hindus are troubled in India. What i mean to say is that the if the Hindus get troubled it is injustice and if the minorities get troubled it is oppression. Come on guys don't be nuts. It is some cynical fundamentalists which oppresses minorities not the justice system of India. Everyone is treated equally by the government and when trouble comes everyone has its share. No need to cry foul everytime the media makes someone 'oppressed'.
