Were your election candidates local or not?

I had four to choose from. Two lived locally, one lived about 30 miles away in a completely different part of Northumberland and the other lived in Brussels. It really left me with only two choices, the local people for a local election. Or am I being a bit local people for the local shop here? I wonder if it really matters as much as I think it does.

1. Mine were local (they actually live in the area, one of them lives just a few houses down from me). But I only had the choice of Labour or Plaid Cymru which is a bit like having to choose between a chocolate teapot and a condom full of holes . . . .
2. In the Ciliau Aeron ward for Ceredigion County Council, two candidates came from the west of the ward and one candidate from the east of the ward.
