- Yes, because they may not survive their term
- Age has never been a issue with my voting, Only the issues I have are what I base my voting on.
- I tend to vote for the person with the most experience, it usually is the older person.
- Sure. Wisdom and experience mean a lot. They are never quite so radical as the younger folks. Also they don't go into office with the idea of changing the world. Usually, they go in with the idea of smoothing out the operation by removing problems and getting things better organized. IMO
- I do not think a candidate should be to young, however, experience is more important.
- Its important in the sense that we have to know what the platform of the person who will take over is. If the elder person should die, we better know what his successor want s to do before voting for an elderly candidate.
- Their age is not really important to me, but their health is.
- Only if extremely young or old. I have see where 18 year olds run for city and county positions and realy they might be bright and capable but really need a little more real life time even for that. Older people might have the life experiences but there is the fact that people do slow down - not just physically but mentaly - as they age. And sometimes there is the you can't teach old dogs new tricks. Some are stuck in their views that were formed 50 years ago and the issues today are totally different. Now I know people in their 70's and 80's that are sharp but I don't know if I would want to have one in a situation where they would have to be on thier best all the time the way it should be for higher offices.
- Of course. The Presidency is a tough job. You want someone who can handle the stresses, without keeling over. In this case age might be a positive, as whoever the Republicans nominate for VP will likely be a better choice for President than the current 3 candidates.
- I'm a afraid it is... I think politicians should have to live by the same guidelines the rest of us do. Just think , If John McCain owned a company and he needed to hire a new Accountant, lets say.. would he hire a 71 year old? Of course not. So why should we be forced to be represented by some of these old farts. They should have to retire from their positions the same as all the rest of us. I think they could still advise with pay from whomever it is that they are advising... but the country should not have to be paying salaries of people who have other pensions and what not. It is such a rip off to the taxpayer.
- Would you rather have a young liar or an older, honorable man? Doesn't matter if it's for president of the chess club or the schmuck in the White House, I would go for honesty any day.
