How in the world do the super delegates think Obama can win the general election?

I heard that one of the main reasons Bill Clinton won is because he had a lot of black votes, so do you think that is why the super delegates will pick Obama because he will get more black votes in the general election

Public Comments

  1. No. He is just better than McCain.
  2. He can win.
  3. Because Obama has the most delegates. He deserves to win. If the superdelegates negates what the people voted for, it's going to piss them off. All that time and money spent on the vote so that the super delegates can override it? Hillary should do what's best for the party and give up already.
  4. DEMOCRATS HAVE WALKED OFF THE CLIFF HAND IN HAND MANY, MANY TIMES... They've lost 7 of the last 10 Presidential elections because the radical left keep dominating their Primaries and nominate extremists like Obama.
  5. ...no superdelegates no Obama is damaged good and can't deleiver that's why there all not flocking to him.... Every1 nos he can't win a general and if u think he can than get your IQ checked.
  6. They have been drinking the kool-aid too much.I swear I do not know what has happened to America when the people can support a racist ex-crackhead for President!
  7. Obama has the distinct advantage of not being a Republican.
  8. The super delegates are afraid to alienate the black vote, but do the Dem's seriously think that the blacks will come running to the republican side. No way. They will be upset but they will definitely vote for Hillary.
  9. There are not enough black votes to overtake the white AND black people who are offended by Obama's support of racism. He cannot win. crabby...just because people do not support Obama does not make us racist. My first American born wife from Mexican parents and my sister-in-law, born in Niger, recently a citizen, cannot stand him. We ARE voting against his idiot policies, and against HIS racism. Sorry, but you cannot support a racist ministry for over 20 years if you are not a racist, or the stupidest man on the planet...either way, we do not need the racist pig. Hell, my sister-in-law is FROM Africa, and she thinks that Obama is anti-American for supporting their pro-African agenda. by...ROFLMAO! Hillary, a closet republican? That is hillarious. Check her voting record. Every year that she has been in the Senate, she has been in the top 5 most liberal Senators. woman's stride...let's see, the racist minister, the criminal drug lord, the terrorist, his racist wife...what is next? Sorry, he has a hell of a lot of "chickens coming home to roost" dude...I have given everyone I have seen comparing McCain to Bush an opportunity to speak out. How can you claim he is at all like Bush when he has voted against Bush at nearly the same percentage of votes as Hillary and Obama have, and he has voted closer to both of them than Bush. Check his voting record. Now, in what way is he another Bush, other than he understands that cut-n-run is not the answer? waterman...the democratic primary is not about race, and you are right about both being similar on issues. What it IS about is Obama's connection to racism, a criminal slum lord, and a terrorist. Primarily that Obama could not support that racist ministry for over 20 years and not be racist. LDS mom...what I find funny is that Howard Dean, and it seems you, believe that Dean has any control or authority over the super delegates. They can vote any way that they choose and are not beholden to anyone. I hope Obama wins, because I think he is easier for McCain to defeat. Emon...If Obama gets the nomination, his skeletons will destroy him, and if Hillary gets the nomination, blacks will be so pissed they will either stay home or vote for McCain. pitbull...at least if you are going to be wrong, you can be wrong on all counts. 1. The super delegates WILL decide this primary because neither have enough regular delegates. And 2. In the general election, the electoral college does decide based on the popular vote in their state.
  10. They don't. They're voting for him out of fear of losing the black vote. If blacks succeed in highjacking this nomination, I'm turning republican.
  11. Because they are smarter than most Face it! hillary is toast and McCain is only a few steps from the grave. Do you really want a rube for president? I dont.
  12. why do you separate votes into black, white, whatever. we should start thinking of it as a vote. also winning is based on what people want and believe the canditate will be able to do once in the office.
  13. No. Contrary to the fantasies of the right wing, MOST of Obama's support is coming from white people. What the bigots do not realize is that they are now only a small fringe group in American society.. Decent people are looking at Obama's positions, leadership, and ability. Not the color of his skin. That's why the superdelagates think Obama will win. No one but the white racists care about his skin color--and they won't vote Democrat anyway, so who cares?
  14. You hit the nail on the head. I think they are willing to take the chance with Obama just to try and keep the party somewhat intact.
  15. Do you think the super delegates pick because of electablity or how the people vote? Think again. Its all about money. If obama wins he bought the election. Plain and simple. http://www.capitaleye.org/superdelegates.asp
  16. Obama isn't a closet Republican like Hillary...
  17. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama each have amassed distinct and significant and important supporter bases. The DNC is concerned about losing either. That's the real crisis they are facing. And yes, Blacks voted for Bill Clinton in HUGE numbers - similar to the support Obama is seeing. How about that?!
  18. Obama will fail.
  19. He will win, it's only th Wright controversy that has questioned his judgement. I don't think it's only because of the Afro-American vote, it's also because he's winning and to pick Clinton would really start caos.
  20. because he will be running aganist mc cain.who wants another iddiot like bush in office???
  21. obamas point is that he is not about race so please everyone stop trying to make this election about race. He and hillary have pretty much the same positions on issues, the main diffrence is personality
  22. The super delegates have been told to vote with whoever is ahead in the popular vote. It is Obama. He will no matter what have more delegates by June 4. Obama will get the nomination, period. Therefore, McCain will win the white house, you can bet on it.
  23. How in the world do Reps think McCain can win
  24. Your question should be how does a person with the name recognition like CLINTON and have 107 Million Dollars to spend from their own personal account and also was the undisputed front runner for over a year be now trailing a junior senator. If she can't dominate a win against Obama, she can't win against McCain and the Republican Party. Had this been two white male candidates, this would have been over. In the 1984 election, the major contenders for the Presidential nomination were Gary Hart and Walter Mondale. Each won some primaries and caucuses. Mondale was only slightly ahead of Hart in the total number of votes cast, but won the support of almost all superdelegates and became the nominee. Berman, Ari. 25. The superdelegates are in quite a conundrum! They are perplexed & don't know what to do! As of March 15, the super delegate tally had Hillary leading among super delegates by 247 to 211. So, with 57 percent of the super delegates decided, Hillary’s lead was shrinking. After Obama was wronged by Wright, the super delegates may change their mind. They don't have to commit. They seem to have their feet firmly planted in mid-air.
  26. He will win because he is the BEST.
  27. The super delegates don't think that-the Obamatons think he has a prayer. They are so high on crack or Kool aid whatever Obama is doing these days that they actually are living in an alternate reality. Honey. Let me break it to you gently, OBAMA IS A LOSER HE CANNOT WIN HE WILL NOT WIN. THE DNC IS NOT GOING TO LOSE THE GENERAL ELECTION. K? Nuff said.
  28. Obama has mobilized DEMOCRATIC voters; Hillary has mobilized REPUBLICAN voters. see--Obama will bring out all kinds of new and disenchanted republicans, and grab a lot of anti-war, anti-republican Independents. This being the case, as many Republicans are not over-the-moon about McCain, they will probably stay home. UNLESS--if Hillary gets the bid, the republicans will come out en masse to vote against her (many are switching parties to vote FOR her in the primaries), and the Democrats can say bye-bye to the White House for many years. The super-delegates KNOW who's going for Hillary--and it AIN'T the base!!
  29. Obama has always spoken against racism so if the super delegates fear a backlash from the blacks and that is why some are voting for him, that will be very unfortunate indeed because it would mean they are pandering to black racism which is very sad indeed. I do not see how an extremist like Obama who is now trying to distance himself from Rev Wright, win the General election in November. If he is the nominee, I am voting for a 100-year extension of the Bush war with McCain even though I hate Republicans and the war. I would vote in protest.
  30. Your question shows a serious lack of understanding of the electoral process. First- it doesn't matter what the super delegates believe about Obama's chances... they don't pick the nominee.... Second - nobody wins a general election b/c they had "a lot of black votes." The general election is decided by the electoral college. You need to educate yourself, and not be listening to what you "heard."
  31. The GE is 7 months away. That is an eternity in politics. I mean, 6 months ago, people were saying Giuliani was a shoe in! Most of the Obamadrama is over, or at least there probably won't be any more big surprises. He has never been vetted, so we are all learning about him from scratch. Hillary, well almost anything we learn would be TMI-we already know so much. Anything can still happen, but Obama has brought so many new voters to the party, they don't want to disenfranchise them. It will really depend how it plays out in the next month.
  32. I am confused with the black white issue here. Obama can be black or white depend on the situation. When his black side is in trouble, he pump up his white side. Example: Time article about his white mother recently. In some cases, I hear some people say that Obama's father is African-American. No, Obama's father is not an African-American. His father is a muslim Kenyan with 4 wives who neglected him & his mother when he was 2 years old. Yet, he wrote book "Dream of My Father". If we have a black president, I prefer a direct descendant of a slave rooted in America.
  33. They DON'T !!!! Obama Supporters will NEVER accept that HE AND THEY CAN actually make mistakes and CAN be wrong !!! Obama Supporters do not want to see, hear, and/or understand the TRULY Intelligent Answers and/or Questions that are NOT -FOR- Obama !!! We NEED to start doing the "REPORT IT" Button on them for EVERY LITTLE ... POSSIBLE ... Violation, like they do to the rest of the people on here !!!! . Because ... NEITHER can WIN the outright nomination !! So ... It will go the the Convention, with the Super Delegates making the FINAL decision for YOU !!! The Elite Democrats CAN AND WILL select the person that they FEEL has the BEST chance to REPRESENT the Democratic Party!! With ALL of the scandal surrounding OBAMA ... He is NOT going to be their CHOICE !!! . CHANGE is ALL that you will get back from the Socialist/Communist/Liberal Democrats, when they TAKE your hard earned paycheck from you to give it to able bodied people, "FEEDERS", who do NOT want to get off of their butts and actually get a job !! Our wonderful government hand-out programs !! Please, TRY to HOPE in one hand and SPIT in the other hand! Which one is filling up the fastest ?? . We need to make sure that the person that represents AMERICA is PRO-AMERICA !!! WE NEED to make sure that EVERY man, woman, and child, KNOW how ANTI-AMERICAN Obama and his Reverend(S) ARE !!! Would a CONTINUAL 20 years of "second hand smoke" have a negative affect on the other people in the area ?? Would a CONTINUAL 20 years of "Anti-American Preachings" have a negative affect on the other people in the area ?? John F. Kennedy, a Democrat, was sworn in as the 35th President of THE United States of America, at noon on January 20, 1961. In his inaugural address he spoke of the NEED for ALL Americans to be ACTIVE CITIZENS, famously saying, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." Please NOTICE that it said DEMOCRAT - NOT Socialist and / or Communist Democrat !! It means this country is only as strong as the people in it. It means get off your a$$ and do something!!! . The Democratic Elite make the rules and then they change them for their convenience !! The Elite Democrats feel like THEY know better than YOU who would be the best person to run the country !!! By the People and For the People !!! .
