What would happen if there were no voters in this election ?

Please dont send small sentences that wont help. ONE: What would happen, what would it be like, if there were no voters for this election? TWO: How important is voting as a right and responsibility for each citizen in this country ? THREE: Some people should not be able to vote, thats what i think. Nothing racial but whatever. What do you think ? Thanks for any answers that help! Ok but how is it possible that there would be some votes if no one votes at all whatsoever ?

  1. If there were no voters, Hillary Clinton and John McCain would somehow both still receive votes. Perhaps Obama would too. They would all have to explain to the country why each of them received votes even though none of us voted. Since this is a make believe scenario, I'm just going to roll with it in imagination land. The next step would be removing both (or all three) cheaters from the election and having us start over from scratch. The people of the US would be so fed up with both republicans and democrats that we would choose to do away with both parties and again start from scratch. This, of course would result in a lengthy process of figuring out what to do. Before we reach a conclusion, we would quickly realize that someone would need to serve executive office during this transitional period. Since W Bush is the most likely candidate, the people of the US would reverse their decision to revamp the electoral process. We would just forgive Hillary and select her for president because we are already very used to her lying about everything else. Aftermath: The Ron Paul supporters would all kick themselves (literally) to death for not voting. Even though there's only a few of them, they all seem to be VERY passionate in their support for him. The fact that only one vote from them would be all it took to elect him would be enough to drive each and every one of them to suicide. Hillary would serve as president and be voted by some to become the first Queen of the United States. Republicans, Obama supporters, and any other people with true American blood pumping through their veins would implode from the horror of our nation turning into a socialist society. The troops in Iraq would request to come home, but unfortunately Hillary's healthcare plan would eat up all the money required to fuel the transport home. The troops would be stuck in Iraq with no support and a quickly decreasing amount of ammunition. Comedian/Talk show host/Obama supporter Jon Stewart would go back to doing nonpolitical comedy and actually be funny once again. His comedy would be so entertaining that people would finally stop watching American Idol and other mindnumbing TV shows, such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The advertisers would not be prepared for such a cultural shift. The economic effects would be devastating worldwide. Okay, this fairy tale isn't going anywhere. I'll stop now.
  2. 1 Election coverage would be short, and given the fact that in recent elections, all of the electronic voting machine errors favored the republican candidates the republicans would probably win. 2 Voting is a very important duty of every citizen that qualifies. If you don't vote, you might as well have no right to vote. In ant case, if you don't vote. you have no right to complain about what the politicians do, And you have no right to tell others who to vote for. 3 Some people are not allowed to vote. People convicted of certain crimes are not allowed to vote, but they can run for office. Also, in state and local elections only those that live in the state or locatility, can legally vote on the state or local issues. The writer Robert A. Heinlein, once suggested that the voting public should pass a test before being allow to vote, to prove their understanding of the issues and political standing. He had noticed early on that the advent of television campaigns had turned the election process into a circus and a popularity contest. It may be much better to run elections that way. Do away with the archaeic and artificial complexity of the electoral college and let every vote count. Do away with gerrymandering election committees and primaries. Every 4 years have a TV game show called American President patterned after American Idol, where the candidates are prescreened, and the most promising get to entertain us while informing us of their views on the issues. Hmm.... Nope. Never gonna happen.
