Am I alone or does it seem like President Bush has turned his back to the country until Election Day?

It seems like he doesn't even come out for public appearances anymore. Does he not care that our economy is in such bad shape? Why does he refuse to alleviate the obvious stress the war is having on the states? The stimulus pkg is a nice gesture, but a gesture nonetheless. And I'm afraid not a grand enough gesture to turn around the mess created over the last 5 years.
